Liverpool FC have been handed a welcome fitness boost with the news that Mamadou Sakho is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The French defender suffered the problem in the defeat to Chelsea on December 29, and it had initially been feared that he could be out of action for up to six weeks.

Sakho, though, has responded well to treatment, and has been back at Melwood this week working closely with the Reds' medical team.

The 23-year-old could even be in contention for Sunday's Premier League trip to Stoke City, though no decision will be taken on that score until later in the week.

The Beast

What a massive boost for us  cheers

We might almost be at full strength when Everton come to Anfield with Allen Sakho Sturiddge Flanno all scheduled to return in 7-10 days  banana

I hope we don't rush him back because Agger's out.

Hamstring injuries are risky.

Anywho,

Second scan says otherwise... :S

Brendan Rodgers today confirmed Liverpool are set to be without the services of Glen Johnson for a period of time, while Lucas Leiva is expected to be out for 'a few months'.

Sakho is back. Agger and Enrique come back in a couple to a few weeks. Not sure what happened to Allen. Glen and Lucas are massive outs.

Pretty reliable. Probably the best injury list compiled out there that has expected return dates.

Enrique hasn't even started training yet. He won't be back anytime soon. Rodgers said he's still a few weeks away from being able to do simple training.

As for the rest Allen, Flanno, and Sakho have been training with the team and could probably play if we're short in numbers.

Yeah Flanno is definitely fit for Everton as he played yesterday. Sakho and Allen will be last minute decisions.

Agger, Lucas, Johnson, and Enrique out long term still.

Allen is back.

BR: Glen Johnson’s working really hard with the medical team, but there’s no timeline on that yet.

BR: We’re disappointed with Jose Enrique’s recovery. Agger and Sakho are still out, but we’re slowly getting there with Flanagan coming back

Enrique is the injured player who actually will feel like a new signing, but he's the one that's showing no signs of coming back any time soon...
