UEFA? Clean? The same UEFA whose head voted for Qatar? Where the German FA is accused of buying off the Oceania votes for the 2006 WC? No, they aren't clean in the slightest. No part of football is clean, it's corrupt to the core and getting rid of Blatter won't change that.

If you want to reduce corruption you need to get rid of EVERYONE and start over from scratch, but this will never happen, so instead we will have the same shit going on, the only difference being corrupt officials will be more clever about it and won't pass their money through US banks ever again.

Pretty ridiculous. Maybe Prince Ali wasn't a strong enough opponent? He was losing the voting even before the 2nd round of voting started...and then he drops out?! wtf

Sepp was only seven votes away from winning in the first round, Ali knew it was pointless to go through the whole thing again.

Don't care, Sepp is going to jail the moment one of the 14 detained criminals starts talking, and then we will see where things stand.

Of course he was going to win even after what happened, he's got so many buddies in there, who want him to stay because he let's them take bribes.

There are two possible scenarios that give us hope:

a) the corruption investigation digs up so much dirt that Blatter's position becomes untenable.

b) UEFA leading a boycott.

UEFA is relatively clean, as I stated before. Platini voted for Qatar at the request of the majority of the UEFA FAs. I am not sure if Germany paid anyone off for the 2006 WC, but if they did, Germany are not UEFA. The complaints about UEFA are usually ridiculous accusations of referee conspiracies when in fact it is down to incompetence, for the most part. Then there is the accusation of fixing the CL and Europa League draws for maximum entertainment value. I doubt it's true, but even if it was, it is not the type of corruption where officials get payoffs. So, I am afraid you are incorrect.

There is another hope, the sponsors drop off. However, I hope that UEFA shows some cojones and leaves FIFA.

UEFA with FAs from other regions that didn't vote for Blatter could organize a credible World Championship every 4 years.

Well, I did hear allegations that Germany paid bribes, but of course there is no proof, as most of the time. As for Platini, AFAIK there are allegations that he got his son-in-law some job(s?) connected with Qatar. And of course there are also allegations that Franz Beckenbauer is involved in some dubious stuff. But as I mentioned - only allegations as far as I know.

Jack Warner is already talking and is cooperating with the FBI. Saw an interview he did this AM: "How is it possible that i am a thief and corrupt and the person who was my president for 24 years is not?"

Statute of limitations for some of the crimes are Dec 5 according to CNN. So they expect the hammer to fall hard before then.

btw, Blatter is corrupt and all...but you really think a organization managed by puppets of the West is a good idea /??

They'd just monopolize everything.

All WCs held in Europe/USA , Africa/Asia each 1 WC spot, USA automatic entry every time, Europe with 24 of the 32 spots.

It's about finding the right balance. I'd shiver to think how bad it'd be if some Englishman got power in FIFA.

As I indicated, it was not Platini that decided to vote for Qatar, it was a majority vote of the UEFA federations. If his son got a job, well nepotism happens in almost any private business as well as in government bureaucracies. Minister of Defense son goes to work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or some company. Happens all the time.

There could have been enticements from Qatar to individual FAs within UEFA, of course, but UEFA is clean because there is transparency and because many of the individual FAs within UEFA are the most powerful in the world and watch UEFA like hawks. Any false move and they pounce on UEFA.
