Now, we have 26 points in 15 games. Not to mention being in a cup Semi as opposed to going out to Northampton in first round.

Have no idea where this Hodgson's record and Kenny's record aren't much different things comes from and is being said by rival supporters hmm hmm hmm

Defense = :bow:
Attack = :facepalm:

New Striker in Jan = banana

Well its a good stat i suppose but the fact remains that we are still a bit off the pace in the top 4 race. The most annoying thing so far about this season it that when we do drop points its been done in a very frustrating way. (Apart from the Spuds spanking). It leaves the annoying thoughts of "if only" and "what if".

But we still have a very good chance of getting into the top four. There are plenty of things to be positive about.

We are playing some great stuff at times and we can hold possession for longer periods and most importantly we can create genuine scoring opportunities from those spells. As its been eluded to already, a top class poacher could be racking up a nice goal haul in our side.

Our defence has been really really good overall this season. The Skrtel-Agger partnership is working brilliant and for me Skrtel has been a bit of an unsung hero in recent times. Enrique is playing excellently at LB and Johnson and Kelly have are competing well for the RB spot.

Obviously the worrying thing now is the lack of protection the back 4 is going to get from midfield. The near impenetrable shield that is Lucas is out of the side and the question still remains whether Jay will be able to make that spot his own until Lucas gets back. I don't think we will know the answer to this until we play the top sides in the return fixtures.

Our attack needs to find their shooting boots and fast. I can't believe our strike-force of Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy can't dispatch teams like Swansea et al.

We don't need any new striker, our strike-force needs to find form.

It would be nice if our forwards find form, so we don't spend money on anyone else, but to be honest Carroll is struggling and is still very young, the 35mill is just too big of a price tag on his head to brush off so easily, he needs to get mentally stronger and i don't see it happening in the next couple of weeks. Suarez has been great but other teams know he's mainly our biggest threat so they double team him and watch him closely throughout the match making it more difficult for him to score. Bellamy just can't do it by himself when Suarez is marked heavily and Carroll is struggling. And not to mention Kuyt has been invisible this season.

So, like most of us agree, we need a poacher in January to have a good chance at the top 4.

Two things

1. We need a player better than Carroll from a team with worse prospect than us. Is there any! True, we managed to lure Suarez last year but...

2. Pushing Carroll further down the pecking order, will it help or hinder his progress!

Make no mistake, finishing has been our bane and we would be so much better with a good finisher. But the thing is even Suarez or Kuyt hasn't been prolific.
