I have an Acer netbook that I've been using constantly for the past 2 years...it's been fantastic so I'm quite an Acer notebook should fit the bill for you quite nicely. As for Dell, I'm in agreement with everyone else....absolute garbage of a manufacturer.

only problem with hp is the heat..... alot of their laptops heat up alot

in my personal experience theyre poorly made. i had the hinge break off where it folds, broken headphone jack, and power input problems.

horrible customer service too (especially if you're an English speaker)
