Re: Electronic Music Thread
Overwerk is a new and exciting, Canadian electro artist. Together with Deadmau5, another highly popular Canadian artist, they feature regularly on several skiing events on TV. For fans of electro music, this is an artist you should keep an eye out for.

A pretty awesome remix of Jessie J's 'Who are you'.

I saw this in the related section and quickly remembered how f*cking amazing Purity Ring. This song is ridiculously good.

Re: Electronic Music Thread
Scrolled through this thread a few weeks back and I forgot to thank Thimmy and Phritz for one group and one group alone. Glitch Mob. I don't listen to much of this genre, but I'm absolutely hooked on to these guys. So props to you guys. Also...I've looked around a lot...and nobody comes close to these guys for me ? Any recommendations specific to Glitch fans ? I like dub..but tht skrillex stuff turns me off..
@Thimmy - regarding your song request, as long as you can find it on youtube the songs always within reach. I dunno if you use it, but there are few youtube2mp3 converters that work great. Haven't used p2p for music in over a year

Also :
I do use 'Youtubetomp3converter' every now and then. The only real downside to it is the low sound quality of the files. Not that I'm complaining about it. Anyways, the song that I'm looking for only lasts for a few seconds of that video I posted earlier, so copying it off of youtube is kind of pointless
I don't really know about any other artists that sound quite like Glitch Mob. They're pretty unique in their style of producing electronic songs. If anything at all, I guess they have certain similarities to Daft Punk, Justice, Savant and Ratatat. Check out these two songs and tell me which one you like better.

Re: Electronic Music Thread
Definitely prefer Ratatat...but I wouldn't go as far as to download either..what I'm looking for is something with significant bass and a beat that butt rapes your ear.
Like this ( picked it up off a dance vid posted by THC ) :
I've been looking around for songs similar to Glitch...and that's been disappointing so far. In that sense, I don't mind minimal music either. But Glitch mob just blows everything outta the water. I've always known and liked Daft Punk though. Again, I'm an extreme noob when it comes to this genre, and these are just my preferences coming from a long history of metal.

That song you just posted was remixed by Adventure Club, and that automatically makes it awesome
To some, Glitch Mob probably sounds similar to a lot of other electronic bands. But the thing about them is that they seem to mix several different electro genres in their songs. Some of their music sound kind of Daft Punk-like, while other songs are heavily influenced by genres like Electro and Glitch-step. Yeah, I know that last genre sounds retarded.
Here's an example of a Glitch-step song
Not quite the same, right? That's because Glitch Mob mix several genres together. I can't think any other bands that are quite like them. I'm not even sure exactly what official genre Glitch Mob is. The majority of modern electronic genres sound like they were impulsively made-up by mentally challenged kids. Anyways, you mentioned Daft Punk and.. something with bass that rapes your ears, so I'll keep looking
You might like Uppermost. They may not be ear-raping, but they have that awesome french sound that Daft Punk and Justice have. Plenty of bass, too..
As for Ear rape..

Re: Electronic Music Thread
Thanks for the explanation of the genres, Thimmy. Glitch-step ( Rameses B) isn't bad at all, and definitely has a few of the elements i'm looking for. So I'm certainly gna look into that a bit more.
Didn't really like the Justice songs that much ( is it me, or was there a tinge of rock/metal in it ? ) but for me..the more the vocals, the higher the likelihood of not liking it. Because vocals are easy to come off as fruity. Whereas shit like Glitch and Daft Punk has just a few catchy verses, or none at all. And that works for me.
Also, that flux pavillion song is exactly what I was looking for ! My ears were absolutely violated and I must have more. Does that fall under regular "dub" ? I've checked out a few flux songs, and it kicks ass..not to the level of Glitch Mob ( imo ), but still more than worthy of a download.
Thanks for the recommendations bro. Great job on the thread !
