Things are falling apart.

I don't rate Montoya either, but the fact is we WILL need him next season. Alves will be gone, and Adriano can't play for shit on the right plus is always injured. Adama has never even played as a rwb. What are we just going to hope Douglas can carry us the entire season?!?

I mean freezing Montoya out now makes zero to no sense. They should just start to incorporate him more and then when the transfer ban is lifted, then get rid of him. Especially with how badly Alves has been playing as of late, would make sense to pass the torch and have Alves as the back up.

He isnt and never was good enough.

Adriano even though not totally comfortable, is still better at rightback.

Id rather have 18 year old rookie Godswill than Montoya.

The only problem is he realistically isnt ready and I have no idea how bad or good Douglas is.

kicker says Leverkusen is thinking about trying for Montoya in winter. The way it sounds apparently there are indeed some kind of signals he might be available.
What I really wonder is, shouldn't you categorically not sell anyone with the transfer ban in place?!

If Douglas was a good player, I dont see why not.

Adriano, a good right back (if Douglas was) and La Masia back up (Godswill) would be just fine numerically.

The problem is not selling Montoya really, its signing useless players.

You guys are all talking about Douglas as if he were some scrub, and he might be, but you need to take into account that the people in charge signed him so they must clearly rate him.

I don't have a problem with selling Montoya. He isn't good enough for Segunda.

We signed the kid, just like we signed Kerison, as some sort of crooked deal I believe we have with some Brazilian agents company. Apparently the agent gets a top fee and is somehow involved with our club or some shit. Not sure of the specifics but the whole thing sounds dirty as hell.....not a signing done out of a talent scout telling us we needed the guy

Perfect timing.

Barcelona look into Douglas transfer. Paid 4M, but initial fee agreed was 8 or 12M. Assistant sports director Valentin under suspicion [ser]

Say your Valentin.

Everyone thinks it is was 8, club only wanted 4. 4m left over, give enough to quite whoever needs to be kept quite and keep the change for yourself.

So that means your club PAYED 8m but the Brazilian club only received 4m? Guy told your club's finance department 8m are agreed yet agreed on 4m with the selling club?
Is he alone negotiating this stuff?
How could anyone expect such obvious fraud to go through, how does this even work?
Or does it mean something else, more complicated?

This tweet is a bit thin, are there any articles about it?

No idea, mere speculation and I dont care enough to find articles or such like.

I mean, I doubt he would be alone in that knowledge..but then it implicates others who need paying off.

Pay enough people to look the other way and who knows?

Maybe its even more simple, like suspected with Henrique. Buy a player who you know sucks, the club who sells knows he sucks..but pay enough money to the club to make them happy and keep the rest.

Ok.

I'm merely a bit baffled that something like that is thrown out there in a tweet and then it's shrugged off like that without any follow up questions.
"I don't care enough to look for an article" lol, isn't this a pretty outrageous allegation concerning an integral part of the workings of your club? scratch

If you were a barca fan you would also be numb to allegations of wrong doing and corruption. We just assume the worst is true and move on.

I mean we're talking about the board that:

Paid Nerman's dad 40m and then lied about it
Got involved in a tax evasion conspiracy that forced the club president to step down
Got us banned from 2 transfer seasons
Used the "do or die" transfer season to sign an injured player we were told needed surgery and ignored the advise of the doctors only to do the surgery anyway 5 months later
Sold our identity to a Qatar "charitable foundation" that is somehow able to spend 70m a year on advertising

Someone stealing 4m from the club is really a minor thing compared to these things

If Montoya is Segunda level what does that make Douglas who looks out of his depth against Tercera opposition?

Dear Lord, what is this guy doing at Barca and why is Montoya being thrown out of the club for him?

As I said when you guys signed him, this mofo was probably the worst RB in south america last season. Obviously there's something fishy about his signing.

Re: Martin Montoya

Post by futbol on Thu Dec 04, 2014 10:28 pm

From what I read it was Nerman's father's "scouting agency" (remember, he got money to "scout" players for Barca) who "discovered" the player so I suppose this whole thing has to do with Nerman's fishy contract. You know, they insist they officially paid € 57M but also some € 40M+ for "other stuff" that officially isn't supposed to count as transfer fee. So most likely they are pretending that payments for "scouting players" etc. were really done for those purposes and not as additional sign-on fee payments to avoid taxes. Something along those lines would be my guess.
