Not sure if all these opinions are a bit over the top? The guy is a top talent, just werent getting enough playing time at Barca and Pep had such a great opportunity for him and he decided to go, good decision for him and wish him well....

Because he was injured...? He has been a starter in almost every game where he has not been injured.

2nd best performer in Bayern according to your bible whoscored.

The fact that you checked whoscored. Proud

Even I could be a top player in Bundeliga and Bayern. Played 1 game in CL and they lost it, lost the supercup.  Laughing

The same supercup where Thiago created both of Bayern goals and was by far their best player along with Robben? that supercup?

What the hell game were you watching?  Laughing  Lahm created both Bayern goals.

From winning 1-2 to losing 4-2, and could have been much worse if Dortmund could finish.

I can assure you it's not meant as an insult at all, I'm merely going with what Zlatan lovingly calls him.

Re: Thiago Alcantara

Post by Winter is Coming on Wed Feb 05, 2014 8:25 pm

The creative midfielder reveals that he had to adapt himself from his years growing up in the Catalan club's philosophy but is a better player for his experience in Germany
Thiago says that he has had to adapt from his "Barcelona style" in order to settle in at Bayern Munich.

The possession-based style of play adopted by Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena is often compared to that of the Spaniard's Barca team of 2008-2012 but the young midfielder, who swapped Camp Nou for Germany in the summer, believes that the clubs are quite different.

"I had to change my Barcelona style a bit when I got here," the 22-year-old told TZ. "It's a different type of football but that's only improved me as a player."

Thiago then revealed his happiness with life in Germany, adding: "Some of my former Barcelona team-mates have already visited me here. I am feeling very well here and that's what I've told them as well.

"I didn't have any expectations when I joined Bayern. I had never expected that everything would have been perfectly organised like this."

The Spain international had 185 touches of the ball during Bayern's 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday - breaking Bastian Schweinsteiger's Bundesliga record - but he insists that integrating fully into the side is more important to him.

"I don't really care about how many touches of the ball I get. What matters to me is that I understand my team-mates on the pitch," Thiago declared.

"I am slowly starting to get to grips with how the guys are behaving in certain situations and where they want to receive the ball. That's important to me."

Probably. I'd say everything containing 'in the world' is usually an exaggeration Very Happy. But I hear you.

He's performing great, fantastic player, but he too has his off days, like against Arsenal.

Good thing is, he's only starting, can see him getting better and better.

Missed about 30 games through injury in the last 3 seasons which is like 25% of all games. Meh, I'm not phased by that. He's still a great player to have, especially if the state of your midfield is in shambles, which is currently the case at Barca.
