No, I know that.

But a Kimmich-Kroos or Kimmich-Gundogan midfield would be pretty GOAT in his current form.

Ter Stegen continues to be an unadulterated catastrophy in the NT jersey.

Two times, involved, two times pants-shitting moments because there is no Neuer.
Neuer always has perfect timing when coming out. ter Stegen on the other hand basically gave a penalty away already with a botched attempt to come off the line, with both Vardy and the ref being merciful.

Germany will dominate and attack in waves, England will defend with great character and then USA will come off the bench on 80th min and take all credit. Been there done that.

That hashtag was incredibly unfortunate.
At least we weren't playing Nigeria.

I really like how Kimmich is shaping up. Wagner again proves my point that you really don't always have to have the best striker in the world up front, you just have to remember strikers were a thing once, and occasionally use them. I love Klose with the entirety of my heart, but it's not like he was vastly superior to the likes of Stindl, or even Kruse and Wagner. We just stopped playing strikers, and as a result, strikers stopped scoring for us. It's really not that complicated. Not saying we should play a classic 9 each and every match, but we could probably do it more than we have been in the recent past.

Kimmich was the best player on the pitch.
He is fantastic, the only question marks are still his defensive abilities, in duels and positioning, at top level.

That's one reason why I was hoping for Tuchel and maybe some 3-man defense variation at Bayern, where he could be a wing back.
Carlo already experimented with one midfielder, Tolisso, staying deep to the right, 'abkippen' whatevers the English word, to cover for Kimmich.

Wagner is very good, and most of all a real SOB, the German version of Diego Costa without being quite as nasty and disgusting. Nothing wrong with Stindl, or Kruse either.

But I think it's far too harsh on Miro to claim he's not vastly superior to them. Miro was a top striker, period. Depends of your definition of vastly, of course, but I think we have to acknowledge he was a league above them.

Oh yeah Miro was better than them, and would probably perform to a more impressive degree than either of them, but what I was trying to say is that Klose couldn't do anything that the others flat-out couldn't do. He was just better. But it's not that certain options totally disappeared with Miro.

Related to that: How is Ginter not ahead of Mustafi and Rüdiger in the pecking order?

IMO by now Rüdiger by now is better than both Mustafi and Ginter

Ginter hasn't turned out as good as one thought.

Mustafi has been ruined by Wenger.

Yeah I agree Ginter seldom outright impresses, but on the other hand he seldomly f*cks up, which is kind of impressive in it's own right.

Your XI for this evening against @equipedefrance: Trapp - Can, Hummels, Süle, Plattenhardt - Khedira (C), Kroos - Gündogan, Özil, Draxler - Werner. #DieMannschaft #GERFRA

Anyone else finds it incredibly silly that the German team uses #GERFRA as hashtag for the game, while the French use #ALLFRA - 'Germany' as opposed to 'Allemagne' ?
Doesn't this defeat the purpose of a hashtag? Couldn't they agree on one? Laughing

To be frank, they have the most impressive team I watched so far. If Germany had even one of their technical wingers/ strikers we would demolish any team in the world. As it is, the only useful guy is Reus is who is perma injured and an out of form Goetze. Our striker is Werner who shows potential but is still very young and with little experience. So yeah, the team can create  lots of clear cut chances but the striker is not optimal and a true weinger or striker who can take 1 on 1 isn't there. In the past, Lahm provided the extra dribbling to break through.

Hey Babs. Your NT literally won 2 big trophies last year, with reserve teams. You have more depth than anyone. I say Brasil is favourite, followed by Germany and then France. I like to think we Spanish can surprise, but we’ll see.

I am not impressed by Brazilian defence. They have awesome attackers but I think in midfield and defence all of the Germany, France and even Spain edges them. Spain has to undergo a transition though. Instead of a slow build up, a fast transition style a la Atletico Madrid is more suitable to the current crop, so all ball hogs like Silva should sit on the bench.
The reserve team is a reserve team. Nothing compares to WC or EC on international level Very Happy
