Diego Alves really should start. And Ederson from Benfica deserves a call up too.

It's a lot more organized now. Tite is even making a midfield of Paulinho and Renato Augusto look good. We won two tough games last time out.

I have no idea what's going on with the GK selection. I don't know if it's him or Taffarel but like M69 said, Diego Alves should be the starter.

Diego Alves was at valencia's bench until a coupe of weeks ago...

and both Firmino and Coutinho are called up. I hope Coutinho becomes a starter soon.

Mate, Firmino is better than Coutinho. They should both be starting. It always kind of bothers me because I'm not a Brazil fan but they could have such a good team if they used the right players, and used them properly.

Casemiro
Fernandinho - Coutinho
Willian/Gabriel - Firmino - Neymar

That could be so sick. Just as a football fan I'd love to watch that with them given some freedom creatively.

I know Casmiro's injured so have Fernandinho there and Rafinha in his place beside Coutinho.

EDIT: I hadn't realized Jorginho had been called up for Italy. Shame.

I think Coutinho is a better player. Idk, the main issue I have with Firmino is that I have no idea what is his favorite position. He is working as a false 9 for liverpool but I'm not sure if it would work for the NT, I just can't see him and the rest of the team clicking well together.

Coutinho in the other hand is a player who can play in pretty much any team with any formation, he is so good technically

Firmino is similar though. He's great technically, has a better work rate, and his final product is more consistent (as is his game to game play). For me he's pretty clearly better than Coutinho at the moment, and just as versatile.

In your opinion he's better Coutinho. Millions of other Pool fans would beg to differ.

I rate them at the same level myself.

Diego Alves has been Valencia's starter for years...He would only be benched for injury or fitness. Dude has been one of the best keepers in La Liga since he was in Almeria.

@rincon I can't understand it myself. Even when you bring up international competitive games and it becomes even more absurd lol. He even scores there more than them friendlies ffs 49 goals and 33 assists in 24 years of age is something I've never heard in my lifetime.

As a perspective, Ronaldo had 26 goals by age 24 for brazil. In roughly thesame amount of games. (6 less than neymar). Can you imagine that?

Competitve games
5 games 4 goals (world cup)
5 games 4 goals (confederations cup)
5 games 3 goals (copa america)
5 games 3 goals (SA qualifiers)
Meaning Neymar has 14 competitive goals in 20
competitive games

Other competitions
-6 games 9 goals (South america U-21)
12 games 7 goals (olympics)

Which is 30 goals in 38 competitive games.. And probably a gazillion assists.. Very Happy

Squad for Argentina.

Goalkeepers: Allison (AS Roma), Alex (Flamengo), Weverton (Atletico Paranaense)

Defenders: Gil (Shandong), Marquinhos (PSG), Miranda (Inter Milan), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo), Thiago Silva (PSG), Daniel Alves (Juventus), Fagner (Corinthians), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid) Marcelo (Real Madrid)

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Giuliano (Zenit St Petersburg), Lucas Lima (Santos), Paulinho (Guanghzou), Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Renato Augusto (Beijing), Willian (Chelsea)

Forwards: Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Gabriel Jesus (Palmeiras), Neymar (Barcelona) (Reporting by Andrew Downie; Editing by Toby Davis)

Starting to lose patience at the keeper selection. Will Tite ever change or will he remain stubborn like Scolari?

My main problems are Diego Alves should clearly be the starter, Paulinho is awful (I would even take Giuliano over him), and Thiago Silva should start over Miranda.

It'll be huge if Casemiro doesn't recover in time (and I think he won't).

Fabinho is not only the best brazilian right back, he might also be the best CDM... But somehow not good enough to get a call up.
