Italy forward Mario Balotelli was forced to leave Monday's training session with a fitness problem, according to ANSA.

The Manchester City man reportedly complained of slight discomfort in his right knee and was given permission by Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli to leave the session early.

Balotelli will now undergo tests to learn the full extent of the problem and if he requires any treatment.

As for the first day - nothing unexpected. I was sure than Russia would beat Czech Republic and than Poland will win by one goal or draw vs Greece. Greece should won TBH, Poland's defence was disaster the whole game, especially two non Polish players - Boenisch and Perquis. Russia should thump this team and depending on other results, game vs Czech Republic in last round may be the game for second place.

Today the Euro starts for me - Group of Death banana

Poland really needed to hang onto that 1 - 0 lead when they were a man up. Greece stand a better chance to get something from Russia.

And Russia showed why they are the favorites in Group A.

My hangover from celebrating the start of Euro 2012 is finally showing some mercy on me (or is it "at me" or what's the correct way to say it anyway?) and in four hours... Holland v Denmark cheers

Uefa have fined Croatia’s FA €30,000 (£24,000) for incidents during their defeat to Spain including displaying racist banners in the crowd, while Portugal’s FA have been fined €7,000 (£5,600) for an attempted pitch invasion against Czech Republic.
