So i am the one that is butthurt ok ..I had no intention to bring Juventus into this thread ,its you guys that are assuming.

Ok i admit i made a mistake in mentioning Ajax.I cross-checked the sides placed in Pot 3 and ok,thats fair enough.

But what has Valencia done to be placed so high as far as CL perfomances are concerned ?Especially them being ranked above Benfica and Schalke.

Let us assess these three teams' perfomances in the CL from 07-08 shall we ?

07-08:Valencia Last in Grp,Benfica 3rd,Schalke Quarter finals

08-09:Dint Qualify,Dint qualify,Dint qualify

09-10:Again Dint qualify,Dint qualify,Dint qualify

10-11:Round of 16,3rd place in Grp,Semi-Finals

11-12:3rd place in Grp,Quarter finals,Dint qualify

Now these results clearly show that its obvious ,EL perfomances have taken precedence in regards to CL rankings.Which is ridiculous.

Excuse me good sir,earning a CL spot by winning the EL competition and breezing your way to CL Pot 2 through EL perfomances are completely diverse.

Besides i was only posing a question.If EL is valued so highly ,why isnt there an incentive like a CL spot awarded to them ?And its not like EL winner would directly land into Pot 2 you know ..Pot 3 or 4 or even starting from the qualifying rounds would be a good solution.

And yes i am one of those guys who thinks EL teams should be awarded lesser co-eff points and i am not even contradicting myself here.

EL perfomances is given far too much importance in regards to CL rankings and that is what i am quite livid about.

On the other hand, it is the same for all clubs - simply do well in the EL if you get there and you climb up in the coefficients ranking. Everybody knows the way the coeffs are calculated, so why don't you exploit it, too?

Exactly. Complaining is useless after all. Beat the system by using it properly.

For the record it would take a herculean effort for us to land ourselves in Pot 1.

We should make something like 3 semis in the next 4 seasons or probably even win it and still we would have difficulty in landing in CL pot 1.

Maybe we should just drop down to the EL since the competition is easier and much easier to get into Pot 1 in the future.

CL and EL have the same structure in regards to co-efficient rankings.

But what about the competition ?Its obvious which one is harder.You would have teams like Milan who qualify for CL every year ,and make atleast a round of 16 appearance(which lands them in pot 2) and than you have team like Valencia who does nothing in CL and just gets into Pot 2 via EL perfomance by beating some tier 2 teams.I'm just providing an instance.See the unbalance ?

And every goal we conceded were ABSOLUTE GIFTS because we didn't have our first choice back line. When I say gifts I mean GIFTS. We're talking about players slipping and shit to let them score.

We beat FC Porto 6-1, and then get knocked out by a much weaker team in their league.

To be honest, after raping Porto 6-1 , we probably thought we could just show up and win against Lisbon.

Doesn't work that way in Europe because these competitions mean a lot to the smaller teams. And now that City are a good team again, everyone steps their game up against us.

We got eliminated because of SHOCKING errors (and a slip) from our backup players and goalkeeper (who tried to "cheat" on a free kick).

I don't know if this has been mentioned,but I was looknig at the Uefa club coefficients,and Atletico Madrid got more points than Chelsea this season.Does anybody have an explanation for this?

So did Barca and Madrid,but I assume that's because of where they finished in La Liga.

Real Madrid, Barca and Atletico won more games in European competitions this season and hence they are ahead of Chelsea.

IMO, its a perfect way of rating the teams. Can any of the butt hurt fans come up with a better process of rating them? It'll create too much confusion.
