‘I was a Liverpool fan,’ says Pako. ‘As a boy I had seen their team in 1975, with Toshack and Keegan, beat Real Sociedad 9-1 and it stuck with me. When I heard Rafa had the chance to go, I said he had to take it.’

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3014692/Former-Liverpool-coach-Pako-Ayestaran-loving-life-Israel-embracing-challenge-charge-Maccabi-Tel-Aviv.html

No brainer. Hopefully it happens.

Hyypia interested in the Asst. Manager's job.

So, would be Pako!

Be interesting if the link is genuine; he's actually a great ass man and helped SAF heaps.

Would like Pako back over the two. Knows Liverpool and his influence after leaving hit us hard. To an extent, so did Rafa's managerial career. hmm I'd argue Pako is a better tactician than "tactician" Rodgers aswell. lmao

Hyypia apparently rumoured to come back into the coaching crew. Taking a step down due to his love for the club. Unless there's something in his contract that states he's taking over Rodgers' job after he gets the inevitable sack???

I'm not sure if Pako will be/is interested about being #2. Of-course Maccabi isn't anything special, but that, along with his experience in England & Spain can land him a job at low level club.

Klopp is taking a sabbatical although it is understood #LFC is one club that could a change of heart. (Tony Banks & Paul Joyce)

Interestingly though, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has suggested he would be open to coming to England and would want to work with a sporting director, something which was initially FSG’s plan at Liverpool.

Why is the Echo running this ffs?

So Rodgers has got Sean O’Driscoll as assistant manager and Pep Lijnders will be a first-team development coach. Reading comments made by Rodgers few months back about Sean, it seems like he got his yes man :hmm. Pep is a good coach but he is a development coach and that means we still have to sppoint first team coach.

I think O'Driscoll is a fine assistant manager appointment. Over 600 games of management experience at a respectable level. That's more management experience than the assistant managers of Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Tottenham and United combined. Heck, it may be more than all of Premier League's assistant managers combined xD

Yeah but he's had a 30% win ratio throughout his career, Fits right into our list of fighters not winners.

Tbh, assistant manager is a different ball game to actually managing.

Queiroz/Meleunseusteen are proven fantastic assistant managers, but when they managed themselves, it was a let down.

I would have preferred Mele or Pako, but let's see if this Sean dude will make a difference. Time will tell.

Well, he's very experienced to be only the first-team coach. Now we've got two very experienced guys for assistant manager and first-team coach. Just need to have the right ideas next - and the main man to deliver...

Gary Mac song is one of my favorites. I led it a few times down at the pub here Proud  Good times. Hope he's hired just for the song.
