Gary Mac song is one of my favorites. I led it a few times down at the pub here Proud  Good times. Hope he's hired just for the song.

Rodgers wrote:“I’ve been through probably the most traumatic four years of my life,” he said.

“I lost my mum. I lost my dad. I split up from the woman I loved for 23 years. I had a court case, two Old Bailey trials over six weeks with my son who was charged with sexual assault, which was an absolute disgrace.

“Yet professionally, here and at Swansea, these have been the best four years of my life. Something has to come from within. You have to put the professional and personal to each side. It’s about being happy of course, but the owners have paid me to do a job, so I will do the job.

Molenation

Come good Rodgers. You've been through hell and back, as has Liverpool, time for you both to rise from the ashes and move on into glory.

Pearce: #FSG came to the conclusion (and fans will dispute that) that #Rodgers didn't have all the tools to do his job last season.

I think most of us do dispute that and agree this is his final chance to make things stable.

Of course it's his final chance, everyone else but him have been sacked by now.

Yeah, he is now the longest serving PL manager after Arsene :coffee: .

Rodgers has sympathy from my side but not 100% support for managing Liverpool as of now. He has spent a lot and this season I expect a trophy and a good Europa League run. Top 4 wont be easy but lets see.

Well whatever the problems last season, let's hope they are fixed this season and he has the tools to do the job this year. If we fail this season, we'll have a clear view of who was to blame.

A trophy and top 4 are minimums imo, and both are achievable.

would be pretty difficult if you'd set a 'minimum' expectation that wasn't achievable Laughing

Can I ask, if that's the minimum, what would be a average season outcome?
PL champions and Europa League?

lmao

Minimum for him to not get fired and for us to have a good season is a trophy and top 4.

For example if we finish 5th without a trophy, I would calling for his head big time and I hope he's sacked. Because that would be another failure of a season.

Btw in football there aren't any average seasons. You either meet your objectives and have a good season or you don't and you have a shit season. No grey in there.

Hans, I'm not sure if your comments was a sarcasm or not hmm . If we don't win a trophy (League Cup included Razz ) and finish in top-four, that would mean either we have an average squad or an average manager.

We have great depth this season. We can play the likes of Markovic, Illori, Lucas, Ings in the early stages of Cups when the 'star' players consolidate our position in League. While those players can take a few games off the 'stars' when they play in the later stages of the Cups. We have the numbers and the quality to do that.

Or it means there are 4 better teams than us who have better players and similar or better managers and more draw/money.

I'm confident we can make top 4 though.

He told Bild:

It doesn't have to be an absolute top club, there are other good projects that are exciting, teams who need help. I inform, read and meet a lot of people - there are ordinary little things that are great fun. I miss nothing [from football] currently. I don't know where I'll be heading to. undefined

But right now, that's not important for me because I know that if I will have the right feeling it will be a wonderful next chapter. You will see what happens and I find it exciting right now not knowing what will happen next. Most of the time in life, the next day is pre-planned. In my case, the next year is completely unplanned. I don't know when to continue, where to continue but I know that I will continue. undefined

Confirmed ::coffee::

That might be too late :coffee: . If he knows that he is on extended life, it's likely he will do little when things starts going wrong. I think decisions should be taken by end of October, depending on the performances.

What a coincidence that was ! I posted here about giving him 3 more games and it seems like it had been already viral on twitter Laughing

@McY, what kind of gift that would be he is still our manager by then and we are surely going to finish in top 4, plus still in FA cup ! hmm

Well that's true Heil. If David Brent is still in charge by my birthday, it would mean we're actually having a good season. Win win :coffee:

I dont know if it makes sense because FSG might decide against 'sacking him' also and decide to wait till the ends of the season :coffee:

I realised just now that El Cujo stopped posting in our section. Natalie and Hames, you f pos bullied him out of our section. Curtinho come back mate, we need your positivity during such low times

I don't know how he plans/can resurrect the season? When look at the squad there's enough quality, but on the field there's no chemistry. Firmino looks like a player who can be more comfortable alongside Lallana and Sturridge for quick pass-n-move. Benteke needs players like Clyne and Moreno for crosses and floated balls. Milner and Emre are better suited for Suarez.

Rodgers have picked players based on individual talents but how is he going to set them up???

Seven points from FIVE matches doesn't worry me. What worries me is 45 mins of decent performance out of possible 450 mins.
