SPOX top 11 from the second round
Andrej Pjatow:
The Keeper of Ukraine kept his team on several occasions prior to the residue and conducted loudly his back four. Very strong save from Menez scratched, also a header from Mexes out of the corner. Blameless at both ports. If he keeps as good against England, Ukraine has a good chance at the quarterfinals.
Jordi Alba:
A clear increase in performance compared to the opening match against Italy. Back in demand and therefore is not for very much urge forward. Played incredibly agile and Duff and O'Shea was never to get a grip. Especially in the first half, almost everything went through his left side. Absolute precision passing game, always in a triangle with Iniesta and Alonso.
Holger Badstuber:
From the beginning, growing in the back four and the one who kept in tricky situations head. Cleared twice in the first half with a clean tackle. Offensive but still scalable: The fat has a header chance just before the break to make it natural. Afforded in the second round no mistake, played down his thing very clean. In the air again super strong.
Theodor Gebre Selassie:
Flawless in defense and always with good advances on his right side. Karagounis and Holebas had clear deficits in Puncto speed, the Czech, who recalls the great Haile Gebrselassie Äthopier knew to use skillfully. So also in the 2-0 of Pilar, where he left Holebas, reached the base line and was in the middle of the Abnehemer.
Ognjen Vukojevic:
At the nominally with Modric on the height, but the Tottenham star was rather further forward on the road, so that Italy just before the break had always outnumbered in midfield against Vukojevic. But the midfielder for Dynamo Kiev kept the index, especially in the duel was very strong and stuffed full of holes.
Bastian Schweinsteiger:
Remained in the team, some experts had expected to use Kroos. In the first quarter of an hour had some serious problems with voting Khedira, which made the Dutch always exercise pressure on the German back four. Then he swam himself but free: With three outstanding bobbling into the depths, two of which led to goals. Burrowed even better in the duels and had some good ball gains.
Andres Iniesta:
Presented in absolute top form. Very carefully and used the ball and always with superb bobbling in the striker. Formed with a congenial duo Jordi Alba on the left, which in combination with Alonso and Xavi, the Spanish "Tiqui-taca" was revived.
Theo Walcott:
He only played half an hour - and at the end was the best man on the pitch. Had the gate lucky that Isaksson oriented itself in the wrong corner, paved the gate of Welbeck but worth seeing. He is the British team is something that they can miss without him: Speed dribble with determination and creativity.
David Silva:
Played very busy and by the Irish defense was not easy to hold. Great creativity and ideas drawn from many pass his game. Not lost in beauty, and was directly involved in three matches. The certain craftiness that makes his game, was when he carried three defenders hinduch einschob to the preliminary decision 2-0.
Fernando Torres:
A few weeks ago, the striker was still far from his best form and was often at Chelsea on the bench. But in time for the EM Torres is in top form. His first shot was right in there, his range of motion dramatically. Torres gave way again and again on the sides and in many attacks of the Spaniards was involved.
Mario Gomez:
Been received as against Portugal in preference to Klose. As if to prove to his critics had his first good Gomez scenes in the game against the ball before he devoted his main task. The 1-0 was incredibly technically challenging, hit his second shot on suspicion high. Stekelenburg did him the favor and went down too fast. After the break, with a large workload run, but only one shot on goal.

Not really, he caused two big mistakes, one let to a goal.

That's brually overkill on the Spanish side.. Okay, they won by 4 goals versus easily the weakest opponent in the Euros and that's it.
