Messi vs Ronaldo or Pele vs Maradona

So, I was thinking about this last night.
We're all so absorbed in this eternal Messi vs Ronaldo "who is better?" discussion and we get so obsessed with answering that question, that we never fully appreciate the rivalry itself and how blessed we are as the current generation of football fans to bear witness to what seems to be the greatest player rivalry of all time. So for this discussion, let's abandon the usual BS that ends up getting locked and take time to appreciate the talents of both players and the rivalry itself and compare it to the other great player rivalry, Pele vs Maradona. Obviously, it can't really compare because the two players played at different times unlike Messi and CR who renew their battle every week...
So, with that said, discuss.

don't underrated that era... Keep in mind that maradona and pele didn't have the same training conditions, the same dopping methods that they have today.. And they played without Ozil or Xavi in the team..

The only people still arguing that Ronaldo is better than Messi are Real Madrid fans...

A much better comparison would be Maradona vs Platini & Messi vs Ronaldo. The situations are pretty analogous.

About Messi vs Ronaldo for majority there is clear winner now. its media and ronaldo who makes this comparsion last so long

Did he mean in Euro 2012? because few months ago he said: “Zidane was the last great player I’ve seen, and then I’d go for Messi. He’s the kind of player that only appears once every 10 or 15 years"

Ronaldo vs Messi is no where near as prestigious, or as close, as Maradona vs Pele.

Ronaldo is not on the level of the other 3.

Maradona vs Pele is debatable.

Messi vs Ronaldo isn't.

Anyone who thinks Ronaldo is as good as Messi, is crazy.

So one goal that even Heskey would have scored makes him Messi's level? MAdrid fans on thsi board are a joke. No one in their right mind would put Cristiano on the level of the others because he sis not. The other players could do other things besides Goal scoring.

Dieguito is the best for me, followed by Pele, then Messi. Ronaldo doesn't have a ticket to this. Swift exit.
