Just to clarify Hala, they do play a 2 leg series to earn a promotional spot, but if they lose that, they and the other 1st place loser, join into the playoff of 2nd, 3rd, 4th placed teams, which will be down to 6 teams after the first round, making a total of 8 teams battling it out for the two remaining promotional spots.

Game over. They score against the run of play. We have to score 3 now. Meh

We havent had such a poor Castilla side for a very very long time. Nobody excites me in that team bar Alex Febes, Odegaard, Llorente and Mayoral. Even the current goalie is poor and we never produce poor keepers. I isually watch Castilla play to watch our future stars but boy is this current crop awful

This team is bang average. Marcos Llorente needs to get out asap or they will destroy him. I am probably the only one who sees Mariano for what he really is. An average player who plays in the third division at the age of 24. The defence and goalie are laughably bad and Javi Munoz is failing at that Mosquera role

Well, they lost out in playoffs for promotion. Means back to 2B for next season. Probably means Majoral will be lent out (likely an Adelante team.

Very disappointing. Looks like none from their group makes the promotion. And just when all season long their group looked like the strongest group. 3 of the 4 teams in playoffs are already out and only Toledo still in action. They lost first game 0-1.

Meh I'd rather we do bad in preseason than the actual season. We have bough a few players so it's only natural that they'll need time. I dont think we'll ever play like we did under Toril. Alot of these kids such as Odegaard and Lienhart look alot better when they play for the first team than at Castilla. The last time we played any good was under Toril. Too bad Perez did a Carlo on him.

You have to be joking.  We had lost 6-0 to Eibar and were last in Adelante by a country mile.  Diaz almost saved our arse but we were too far back when he took over and couldn't make it all the way back.

Just to put it in perspective:
-  We got 42 points in 28 games with Diaz
-  We got 7 (that's right 7!!) points in 14 games to start the season under Toril

Again only twice in nearly 2 decades have we made it up to segunda and only once did we trounce every team on our way. It was difficult for him when he got a new team with all the best players leaving or being promoted but we beat alot of LL level teams under him. Nowadays we have a hard time beating Getafe B ffs

With Toril we managed to finish 5th!!!!! in Segunda with Jese and the likes but when everyone left and we had to rely on DeThomas etc we couldnt get a win no matter who managed us. He should have been given more time. One of the best coaches Castilla have had since the 90th. He made us play beautiful football and the reason why I started watching Castilla. They are a mess now and rely on hoofing without being able to create anything. Toril has an eye for talent. I mean there are only 3 players to get excited about in Castilla these days whereas under Toril, every single player looked like they could play for a top team

With the same exact team, Diaz did 10000x better when Toril was fired. He had completely lost the locker room and there was a player revolt form what I remember.

The issue with Toril is that he clashed with both management and players. Real Madrid gave him some rope while he was getting results. But similarly to Mourinho, as soon as the results dipped (dramatically), he had no goodwill.

He was unemployed from 2013 until this season (3 years) when Eiche hired him. We'll see how he does. Nobody wanted to get near him for 3 years at any level.

Say what now, lost what locker room?? The one Perez shares with the board??

Diaz was ok but never was he going to be as good as Toril and it showed when he was sacked not being able to promote Castilla the season after.

Sorry clashed with the players?? Wtf am I reading? All the players loved him and until this day you see players thank him for kickstarting their careers and helping them develop. Jese for ex is his biggest fan

Toril clashed with Mou because he spoke up for our Castilla players when Mou refused to call them up. That's where the problem was not the players lol

Oh come on Hala... just look at the record that season. We got 7 points in 14 games under Toril and we were in last place by a country mile. Diaz got 42 points in the last 28 games.

You have to be joking.

And yes, there was a player revolt. They all wanted to leave and were absolutely tanking on the pitch. Real Madrid had no choice.

I dont know. Diaz was already highly rated before we got him. Mariano built his career up from the shadows of DeThomas and Mayoral who were rated higher than him. It's very unusual that a player stays that long in Seunda B but it's important to climb up the ranks rather than jump from Juvenil A to the first team/LL club. Let's just say Diaz seems to have acclimatised to life with Castilla better than any other Castilla signing. Didn't like how he played for the first team so he clearly has some developing to do.

Personally i never really rated Mariano because i felt he was too clumsy but his cameo vs Sevilla was something i admire very much and his insistence on staying with the 1st team in order to fight for a spot

Need more games from Diaz to judge I feel. He is at the stage now where he plays a season for Castilla the ascends to the 1st team or gets loaned out to gain valuable experience

Has anyone seen Federico Valverde play this season? I just saw a little of him against Real Union in a double pivot position and he shows some promise. Tall, has good running speed, some good passing, and showed the ability to turn/escape while under some pressure, and he isn't stiff.

Valverde's stock is rising. Scored a game winning long shot a few games ago and has put in good performances in midfield and even as CB, gaining praise from Solari.

Having seen a good chunk of him throughout these matches, he definitely has an audacious eye for passing in the sense that you can see how he tries to be vertical and penetrating with it and not hesitant or redundant, to the point where when he fails, it is at least commendable that he has a vision and intent. He's kind of in the Marcos Llorente mold, and still 18 years old.

This kid is so good, if he sees a pass or opportunity to shoot he takes it without hesitation and the results are almost always either on point or close to it. Keep an eye out for our Cantera's diamond at the u20 world cup and maybe our preseason.

There is going to be an exodus this summer. Valverde, Tejero, Achraf and Febas will likely be loaned out. Our Castilla team is terrible now, just a handful of good players. Ironically enough we did better when we had a C team.

We are following Barca's model of buying our youth now instead of producing our own. The best we ever did with Castilla was recently when we had the likes of Sarabia, Morata, Carvajal, Jese, Pachecho etc. All these made it onto the big stage. Now we are just trying to buy our success, we even bought some no name striker from the Swedish league ffs. When the management get their heads out of their backsides and start developing our own talent, we will start churning out player that won't look out of sorts in the first team
