I think we need a new RB. Arbeloa is backup at best.

So which RB's should we look at?

Call up Carvajal?
Piszczek
Debuchy
Abate
Richards
Walker
Rafael

Mario Fernandes
Van der Wiel

Arbeloa had a bad day today, he's usually pretty solid

maybe we need a RB for the long term but as of now I wouldn't consider it a priority to sign a starting RB

Arbeloa has been at fault for so many goals scored against us so many times this season (especially this year), I lost count, he's average defensively nor offensively, definitely the weakest link of the team. But I would keep him as a back up.

I completely agree. I don't think it was just a bad game. He has been quite poor in the second half of the season when it matters most.

Call up Carvajal. Give him a year to adjust, and in that year use Arbeloa, Ramos and Coentrao (I assume we are offloading Lass). Shouldnt be a problem.

If we did bring someone in, I hope its someone that is defensively stable and wont take a year or two to adapt unlike Marcelo who came in as a defensive mess for the first 2/3 years

For that reason I wouldn't want Fernandes. Azpilicueta is a good choice imo, for 10-15 mil but I don't think he would solve our "problem"

not many quality right backs there, arent they.

i still beleave walker can become a good player, a season with mou and his weaknesses will be flushed out like marcelo, his has all the basic ingrediants of the good fullback.

i liked Azpilicueta since his ossusuna days, when he constantly stopped ronlado in almost all the matches, i was really impressed with him, i was soo sure he would move to barca or madrid, but suddenly he was in marsille.

it would be nice to have him, he seemed excellent prospect back then, donno how he is doing now.

We have to sign Walker, he is so good. He has the right height, and he is freaking fast. it doesnt matter if he makes mistakes, he is so fast he can come back in the blink of an eye. As long as he doesnt play against Kalou, he can be goat :bow:
