Giroud following the path of the original false playmaker 9, Torres.

Gervinho should get our Player of the Month award.

His transition period is over, now he's ready to beast this league. banana

Re: Arsenal Stats and Facts Thread

Arsenal have lost just one of their last 11 Premier League away games (W6 D4 L1).

Arsene Wenger has won just two of his nine away games as a coach in Premier League head to head meetings with Sam Allardyce (W2 D3 L4), the first one v Bolton in April 2002 and the last one v Blackburn in August 2010.

There have been four penalties awarded in the last four Premier League meetings between West Ham and Arsenal.

Arsenal have won six and lost none of the last eight Premier League encounters with West Ham.

The Hammers were the last Premier League side to win at Highbury and the first team to win at the Emirates Stadium.

West Ham have lost just one of their last 16 league games at Upton Park (W8 D7 L1).

Arsenal have only had fewer points after six games of a Premier League season in two of the previous 20 seasons, seven in 2011-12 and five in 1994-95.

Only one team in Premier League history has had fewer than 10 points after six games and gone on to win the title - Man Utd 2002-03.

Gervinho has scored three goals from just three shots on target in the Premier League this season.

West Ham scored the most goals from set plays in the 2011-12 Championship, while the last three league goals Arsenal have conceded have come from dead ball situations.

West Ham picked up eight yellow cards in their last match (v QPR), an all-time Premier League record.

(Will be using some of these in my preview tomorrow). Very Happy

looking at this article
about goals scored from outside the box

table:most in one season

then worth mentioning again that last season Cazorla (in different league anyway)scored 8 of his 9 goals from outside the box

Stand out stats for me

Gervinho's five goals have come from just 11 shots, five of which have been on target.

Arteta makes a successful pass every 61.5 seconds.

"There is nobody better than Arteta in this category either. It will probably come as no surprise that he has had the most touches of the ball so far this season - nearly 1,000 for both competitions.
The midfielder also leads the overall Premier League charts in this regard, from Yaya Toure (684) and Cazorla (675). Jenkinson (604) and Gibbs (556) are also in the top 10 for the league."

In light of the 4th goal being confirmed as Walcott's, I've updated the list again. This also means Chamakh has an assist to his name.

Goalscorers
Theo Walcott - 7 (2, 0 0, 5)
Gervinho - 5 (3, 2, 0, 0)
Lukas Podolski - 4 (2, 2, 0, 0)
Olivier Giroud - 3 (1, 0, 0, 2)
Santi Cazorla - 2 (2, 0, 0, 0)
Marouane Chamakh - 2 (0, 0, 0, 2)
Own Goal - 2 (2, 0, 0, 0)
Laurent Koscielny - 2 (1, 0, 0, 1)
Andrey Arshavin - 1 (0, 0, 0, 1)
Mikel Arteta - 1 (1, 0, 0, 0)
Alex Chamberlain - 1 (0, 0, 0, 1)
Ignasi Miquel - 1 (0, 0, 0, 1)
Aaron Ramsey - 1 (0, 1, 0, 0)

Providers
Andrey Arshavin - 4 (0, 0, 0, 4)
Olivier Giroud - 4 (1, 2, 0, 1)
Theo Walcott - 4 (1, 0, 0, 3)
Lukas Podolski - 3 (3, 0, 0, 0)
Mikel Arteta - 2 (1, 1, 0, 0)
Santi Cazorla - 2 (2, 0, 0, 0)
Aaron Ramsey - 1 (1, 0, 0, 0)
Gervinho - 1 (0, 1, 0, 0)
Marouane Chamakh - 1 (0, 0, 0, 1)
Francis Coquelin - 1 (0, 0, 0, 1)
