Yet another classico - any predictions? Was at the trainings last week and everyone seems very fit!!! I predict a 2-1 win for us.

I thought of creating a thread but didn't because khaled and a few others would do a much better job creating such a thread than me.

2-1 sounds a very reasonable prediction but we have to see how well Tito can handle Mourinho's eye poking and more.

I hoped khaledbarca would create a thread. No offence to Collblanc, but your first post is meh for thread opener.

My line-up for this game:

VV - Alves - Pique - Puyol - Alba - Xavi - Busquets - Iniesta - Alexis - Messi - Pedro

Subs: Pinto, Adriano, Mascherano, Cesc, Song, Tello, Villa.

Let's hope we will see 4-3-3 with Cesc on the bench. We must win and not concede more than 1 away goal. 2 goal win would be great, but I'm predicting 2-1 for us.

2-1 is likely but with a messi-in form i could see 3-1. would be fantastic.
hope Pedro will be in-form and of course iniesta in the middle
I doubt Song will play

lol, I wanted Khaled to create it as I usually create these threads with match details though I cant get the facts that Khaled does.
I am hoping for this lineup:
-------------Valdes-----------
-Alves--Pique--Puyol--Alba
------------Busquests-------
----Xavi--------Iniesta------
Pedro----Messi----Sanchez
Fabregas to change the game when he comes on like last season. Song to come on to hang on our lead and Villa to come on to score another goal.

We need to send a message!! My prediction;

Tello will come on as a sub at the 88th minute and score after being set up by messi., and the game ends 4-1 in favour of us.

Prior to that, this will have happened;

#Also Song will come on for xavi at the 80th min mark when we are winning 3-1. Shortly afterwards he will get a nasty tackle from marcelo and gets up and grabs hold of marcelo's little neck and squeezes as if its a ketchup bottle. Barca team mates then rush in and quickly stop Song from doing further damage. Song gets a red card and as he makes his way from the pitch, he gets a standing ovation and fans chant his name.

Mourinho then makes a racist remark aimed at Song as he walks past him towards the tunnel. Song turns and catches Mou with an uppercut and the special one hits the camp nou turf along with 3 of his now dislodged teeth.
The Camp Nou errupts.......!!!

Pepe is injured and won't play, not that it would matter.

I'm all for Sanchez being a super sub from here on out. Never been a fan of that guy

It seems almost all of us Barca fans agree on what starting lineup we want to see. Let's see what Tito chooses.

Pepe's absence does matter, he is a very good player, and usually plays very well against Barcelona... so it is untrue that his presense or not would not matter...

And i agree, Sanchez as super sup would be good! Pedro, if in form, can be deadlier than VIlla... but i doubt Villa will start, so unless Iniesta will play in the wings.. Sanchez will def. play.

Whatever happend to Barca B team playing against Madrid?

Re: FC Barcelona - Real Madrid (first leg) 23-8-2012

Post by The Sanchez on Thu Aug 23, 2012 6:12 am

Interesting Facts

- Leo Messi’s two goals in last season’s return leg of the Super Cup made him the highest scorer of the competition with 8.

- Messi is also currently Barça’s highest scorer against Real Madrid with 13 goals in 17 matches. He’s now just one goal away from equalling César as Barça’s highest ever scorer against Real Madrid.

- If he plays, Cesc Fàbregas will reach 50 matches as a Barça player. Curiously enough, it would be in the same competition and against the same opponent as he made his Club debut, the Spanish Super Cup 2011.

- In the last four years, the matches against Real Madrid in the Camp Nou have produced 4 home wins, 2 draws and one away win.

- Barça have won the Spanish Super Cup more times than any other club (10). Real Madrid are second with 8 trophies.

- If Barça lift the trophy this year it will be their fourth in a row – the first time this has ever been done.

- There have been four Spanish Super Cup matches between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Camp Nou. Barça have scored 8 goals while Real Madrid have scored 6.

- A Barça win would go some way to reducing the gap with Real Madrid in terms of Spanish Super Cup matches played between the two clubs. At the moment Real Madrid lead 4-1

- This match will feature 13 players who helped Spain win EURO 2012 this summer, 8 for Barça and 5 for Real Madrid.

- Tito Vilanova will be in charge for his first match against Real Madrid as manager.

- Xavi could increase his total of 33 matches against Real Madrid – he already heads that particular ranking. Carles Puyol would equal Segarra’s 31 matches and second place in the ranking.

- A Barça win would place the two clubs neck and neck in terms of victories against each other. At the moment, Real Madrid have won 87 and Barça 86.
