We've discussed it in the rumours thread. Razz

A lot of us are assuming that a buy out clause is imminent.

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9572521/luis-suarez-start-premier-league-season/

I haven't even read the rest of the article yet, but this paragraph might be one of the funniest things I've seen all summer:

At the beginning of time, Luis Suarez bit God, and God was like, "ouch," and God's "ouch" became the universe. And God convened a three-person disciplinary committee to review the incident. And Luis Suarez said unto the disciplinary committee that he would accept a 1-million-year ban, but 10 million years seemed like overkill just for accidentally creating the universe. But God rolled up his sleeve, and the disciplinary committee gazed upon the bite marks, and they were fairly wroth. And God was like, "This isn't even the first time he's pulled a stunt like this." And the disciplinary committee was fully wroth, and the bite marks rose into the sky and became the constellations, and Luis Suarez was left making lame comments in the Uruguayan media that just seemed like complaining to everyone else. And God rested his case.

He's on fire ffs Proud

Just carried Uruguay on his shoulder to keep their chances of direct qualification for the WC alive.

Can't wait to have him back vs United at Old Trafford

Can he play for the reserves? I thought the ban was ALL domestic games. Why wasn't he playing for the reserves before this?

I have no doubts he'll get straight into the team though. You just have to look at his performances for Uruguay last week to see his ready to play.

Won't be happy on seeing Suarez back as I'm rather indifferent to his return, despite the dire need for him.

Until he doesn't learn the meaning of wearing our shirt he can rot on the bench.

If Anfield or any of our fans sing the Suarez chant I will flip.

Re: Luisito

Let me just start of by saying the whole foreign player - domestic club link is overrated to the max. But do you honestly think he doesn't know what it means to play for the shirt after his performances and actions last season? He was one of the few fighting for the club and he showed his passion time and time again. Think someone sitting in the kop last year said it perfectly. Last season when we were knocked out by Udinese, the whole squad went into dressing room and Luis was the only one out side after the game, on his knees clearly upset we didn't qualify. He showed more than enough passion last season. Let's not forget he supported Liverpool as a kid. He's a fighter, and he'll continue playing for Liverpool.

Luis was clearly unsettled in the summer because the media in South America told him Madrid wanted him (when they didn't) and he wanted to show the world he can compete with the best; which he has every right to do so at the end of the day. He's been with us since 2010, and we've shown nothing to suggest we'll make the top 4 guaranteed this season. Now let's be clear, I'm not defending his actions GOING to the media and doing an interview, but we definitely don't know what happened behind the scenes. He states the LIVERPOOL management told him he can leave this past summer, and FSG basically confirmed it a few weeks after he said it. Unfortunately for Luis, and fortunately for us reds, only Arsenal was interested and A) we weren't going to do business with another English team and B) if he is to leave, it would be to a team that doesn't play in England.

Just for the record, we didn't get knocked out by Udinese last year, we got knocked out by Zenit. I'm sure that's what you meant, though, Suarez put the team on his back for that game and almost singlehandedly pulled us through to the next round. I distinctly remember him being very upset at the end of that match that we hadn't made it.

Sorry yeah, my mistake. It was Zenit at home when he scored 2 amazing free kicks.

He definitely has the passion, and knows what it means to play for Liverpool.

Well, Sophia was in Liverpool at the weekend... So, unless she flew to Uruguay in anticipation of labor, little Benjamin was always likely to be born in Liverpool.
