Thank god he's still a red.

We're going to have to get a player to compliment Sturridge and build team around him. That's probably the best bet. We won't get a player to replace Suarez.

Suarez in an interview wrote:Speaking in Uruguay ahead of their World Cup qualifiers, Suarez said: "I am aware that in recent matches that I played I've been calmer.

"I am very self-critical and I realised that playing well, with more tranquility, is helping me a lot. I realise and I prefer to continue and not be the same as before."

Suarez admitted that he had forced club officials to back down over his insistence that he took his children onto the pitch ahead of the Crystal Palace match.

"In England it is not common and the first club people told me I was not going to go with them but I told them that my children were going to come with me, like it or not," he continued.

"I am very self-critical and I realised that playing well, with more tranquility, is helping me a lot. I realise and I prefer to continue and not be the same as before."
Luis Suarez
"They understood in the end and it was a nice moment, a unique moment for me. My family make me think hard and calm me. Nowadays I think a lot of them when I'm on the pitch.

"I wanted my son to live as I do. I suffered a lot as a child and I do not want my children, or any other child, to experience the circumstances as I did.

"As a parent I try to give them all the love in the world and all the best."

Suarez was also happy to acknowledge the debt he owes to Steven Gerrard after a summer when he had been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield.

"Gerrard, for me, is a legend in Liverpool and a great team-mate that helped me a lot," he added.

"His attitude was an extra boost for me to take the decision to stay in Liverpool; both he and the fans of Liverpool influenced much for that.

"I admire him for the great player he is worldwide. For me he will always be a benchmark and at club level he is the best player I have played with in my career, as a person and as a footballer."
hmm
Gerrard

So we're in second, he's playing well with the team and he's suddenly found inner peace with the club? Shocking development, that...

Great player and a big asset to the team on the pitch, but I doubt anyone is under any illusions as to where his priorities and loyalties fall, anymore.

I dunno, i reckon if we fail to qualify for CL he might be out that door, don't think i can love him how i loved him before just yet. I'm just hoping the team's performances dictate the whole saga rather than suarez forcing the clubs hands.

But I thought he wasn't going to play at 100% and wanted to leave the club for Arsenal...

I mean, it's quite clear he is still angry about not moving. He's just put the club into ransom saying "like it or not" just last week for his child to come up on the pitch with him. :\

95% chance he's out the doors if Madrid come in for him regardless if we make Champions League or not.

Not sure if the right thread to mention it, But Cissokho's crossing is very good, Created a chance in both games. But i still favor Enrique there.

Cissokho's a bit like Downing where he whips the ball in and hopes for the best.

Suarez' brilliance made the cross. It clocked in at 38km/h. Very very fast for a header.

The cross for that header was total luck. Cissokho just challenges to win the ball there. But from what I've seen so far of Cissokho with us I wouldn't exactly call him a good crosser.

Btw deserves Player of the Month for October. It's baffling that in almost 3 years he hasn't had a single monthly recognition. This month though he definitely deserves, came back and scored 6 goals for us in 4 matches (3 wins, 1 draw).

He won the fans voted one (and Liverpool's/Standard Chartered), but the official PL award went to Aguero. To be fair, Sergio had a great month himself. Razz

Re: Luisito

Post by Red Alert on Mon Dec 02, 2013 5:49 am

i mentioned this in another thread, but I want to get more into it. im just going to say it, regardless of what anyone thinks / if im putting suarez on top of liverpool right now. I honestly don't think we deserve him as bad as that sounds

he is the ONLY player at the club right now (sturridge as well but hes injured atm and will miss a lot of crucial games we must win with his ankle problem) that WANTS Liverpool to play champions league if you look at his performances over the course of the season, they justify what he wants and what he stands for. and even then, he doesn't even want champions league. he showed that by moving from ajax to Liverpool. he wanted trophies, and he wanted to get liverpool "back" in the good old days where we were successful.

3 years luis has been here. 3 years hes carried us. 3 years we've showed no ambition from the manager / playing group that match luis suarez' desire. (the owners HAVE showed that ambition with their actually support in buying average players based on the managers words). and this isn't luis suarez ambition as being out of this world; no, no this is mentality that luis suarez has is what Liverpool stood for in the past. he is the only player that WANTS to win EVERY game at ANY cost. his desire to win should inspire his teammates, but they don't, they simply just look to go to him ALL the time. the teams either lazy or way too overrated. the current group should be ashamed, honestly.

unless we match that quality, and by match, I mean stop being so f*cking stupid in the market and the players actually wanting to play for Liverpool and wanting to WIN EVERY GAME rather than playing to pick up their payslips, and the manager actually going back to the way that got him his job rather than experiment every second to third game / doing too much off the field crap, we might actually pick up some trophies and suarez might actually want to stay.

and this isn't for suarez staying at Liverpool by the way. this is getting Liverpool back to their former glory days. im not even going to get into how it'll affect our club on the pitch he leaves, as I could go on for hours. but what ambition does the club show to the fans, to the players around the world (the good ones at least), to the current playing group if the player that's carried us for so long has said "ive tried, ive failed, I have to leave the club as I want to challenge for trophies"? Alonso did it in the past, so has torres, and suarez will soon too. the summer that just passed was pretty much a warning. if Liverpool stop this mediocrity and begin to show that mentality from the glory days, we'll get top 4 every year and we'll pick up trophies along the way without losing to teams like hull city tigers ffs.

I like him as a footballer and i respect him to be at liverpool until he doesnt do anything stupid to spoil club's image and i dont accept that he is above our club or something.

He is bad arse biatch who has maligned his image in front of the whole world; so unless he improves his behaviour and hold it so for this season, some clubs will rather prefer some other option instead of him because they know what baggage is coming with him to their club.

It is our bad luck that club like RM wont pay out of the roof for him like they did for Bale :coffee: I dont care if it takes another decade to replace a player like him

It's not even about me liking Suarez, honestly.

I'm sick of players just staying at Liverpool to pick up their wages.

There's hardly no passion in the way our players go about it. It's all fine and great in training photos / at Anfield, but no one wants to play away from home. I'm not sure if they're instructed to play stupid, or if they're not in for the cause but it's worrying.
