Playing as Liverpool, finally got the sratch together to keep suarez and add another premier scorer. Couldnt get Barca to let go of messi "at any price". I shifted my efforts to CR7 (he fights my playstyle better anywho, and has the added benefit of being cheaper) right as I began to bid I noticed the recommendation from the GM says its "highly unlikely a player of this caliber will want to join our team".

So am I wasting my time going after CR7 i.e. will he never sign? Or am I just going to have to pay through the nose? The next player on my shortlist is Hazard and thats quite a big step down.

You don't necessarily want to buy the best overall stats players. A better idea is to buy future stars before they peak. In seasons to come they will develop quickly and become much, much better.

I appreciate the advice, thats why I have Hazard as my third choice. I am in my second season (JAN transfer window just opened) and he is 22 years old, rockin' a strong 87. I play a high pressure game (copious amounts of shots but from medium range i.e. 5 yards either side of the 18 yard line i think its called). I think he would be a good fit, but CR7 would be ideal. Plus I want the marquee name:)

97-104 mil at the moment. I have gerrard and downing listed (pacheco and a 16 year old I scouted fill their roles nicely while being much younger and cheaper) which should put me in the neighborhood of 120ish.

It's where a club get taken over by rich owners and have a lot of money to spend. Happens in real life too, Man City, PSG etc.

To do it on FIFA, go to the main menu, press square on PS3 or X on Xbox I think. Then go on catalogue and go through the levels and find 'financial takeover'.

@yohan so are suggesting i use takeover to get ronaldo to sign ot to force barca to sell messi? I dont really wanna swap teams yet, i have more i wanna accomplish with liverpool before lookin to move to spain.

Nah, the takeover would probably give you enough funds to afford Ronaldo at Liverpool.

I think i have the cash to sign him now. I offered 83 and RM countered with 113. That being said i think the sale of gerrard and stewart downing will fund ronaldo. The concern i have is that he wont sign with pool. The gm "suggestions" say "a player of this caliber is highly unlikely to join our team". Does that mean ronaldo absolutely will not sign with liverpool? Or does that mean i am going to have to pay out my rear (300k+ in salary) to get him to sign? If so, the transfer window in JAN is short and i dont want to waste it chasing a guy who wont sign only to get price gouged signing hazard in JUN.

I hope this makes sense lol, quite a complicated quandry:)

Signed with Barca B after coming from the Australian league and have invested quietly to my team... Have loaned few of the youngsters (mostly going to mid ranged PL teams and bottom classes La Liga teams etc.) whilst investing and developing some of the rising talents of Australia... Bought Rogic, Mooy and loaned in Herd to strengthen my midfield whilst buying Rojas, Troisi and Ruka. In defence gonna get Matthew Spiranovic on a free whilst buying Lowry from Millwall next season.
Obviously, simulating these games with such players would mean I would drop a lot of points and get my contract terminated (making my life hard to get the Australian International head coach...). Gonna be playing a lot of games in which hopefully my players will improve and gain necessary ratings for the Socceroos to do well in the WC!

Any suggestions for a good rotation? First season isnt so bad but once you have success and qualify for champions while making a couple cup runs, burning guys out before the 25th match or so isnt hard.
