Re: Messi names his son "Thiago"
Cristiano Ronaldo is 869 days older than Lionel Messi. Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is 869 older than Thiago Messi

* I just think Thiago is too Spanish and not enough of an Argentine name

Would love Jiopsi's response to this thread, he will probably copy and paste Missi's autobiography that he saved on his word document

We should have an "Almost On Topic" section for things that aren't about football but we like to pretend are.

Re: Messi names his son "Thiago"
Thiago is far more common in Brazil than in Argentina, it's the Portuguese form of Santiago. Messi with Brazilian flair?
In all likelihood the kid won't succeed, might not even become a footballer. So long as his father keeps performing like he has I have enough to get excited about without thinking of what will happen in 20 years.

I think that's better than naming his kid after himself like Cristiano did..
Giving your kid the same name as you is pretty conceited in my opinion

What's the big deal.
It's a name ffs. He could have named him 'lampshade' if he wanted, it's just a name.
