Apple has just been granted a new patent, an "iPhone Nano" design.

Steve Jobs is listed as one of the inventors.

Very nice idea... we might see something like this in the future:

Wasn't the emphasis on size the focal selling point of a lot of electrical things? Phones, Tablets etc. All advertised with a "bigger, higher resolution touch screen"

Now, as an upgrade, things get smaller?

Seems logical.....

Yes very logical. If you fail to see why then I have lost all hope.
And this just isn't for Apple products but electronics as a whole.

Portability is key especially for products meant to take advantage of that.
No one wants a huge mp3 (well maybe you).

The whole point of having something smaller isnt to say smaller its to be able to have it and carry it with more ease without sacrificing much of the important aspects such as speed, resolution, capacity. If I can carry about 4000 songs, X amount of videos, photos, etc and take as little space as possible while still having the clarity and sharpness so it doesn't hinder my experience I'd take it.

Same thing with phones why someone would hold 5-6 inches of a screen size to their ear is beyond me.

Oh and I don't like the Nano at all tbh

this sort of stuff seems to happen in phases, wasnt that long ago that you could fit a mobile in the palm of your hand, then they got really big again and now theyre getting small again because peoples taste keeps changing. First people want a big screen, but then the big screen is too big so they want it smaller and smaller untill the screen becomes too small so they get bigger and bigger untill they become to big etc etc

ive been thinking the same about apple products for a while, you slap an apple logo on a turd and people will line up to buy it, and they're taking advatage of that
