If Gervinho isn't 35 in real age, then it is a good deal to make.

Laughing There's always that risk. OM should run a DNA test.

DNA test doesn't give age though. It's impossible to know above 18 (bone test for the U18)

Should've bought Gervinho.

L'OMediocre blows, Gervinho would've probably not been able to put this sorry team on his back.

Man this team really sucks. lol

We are extremely young. Remember that Thauvin, Imbula, Benjamin Mendy and Lemina are all 20 years old. These were our main signings in the summer other than Payet.

We didn't go for immediate success. The idea was to buy young players and build with them. And guess what... they're a bit inconsistent and error prone.

We'll still end up top 3 in L1 and get to CL again. After losing to Arsenal, Dortmund, Monaco and PSG, the guys were feeling down and got caught by Nice... but we'll be fine.

ehhhhh... Monaco and PSG have locked up the top 2 spots.. I think Marseille will finish 4th in the last day of the season.

Anyways.. if Marseille had any sort of decent academy they would be saving money and not spending it on "up and coming" players in France.. just think.. that money would've been used on signing someone like Adil Rami, but since Marseille haven't produced anything worthwhile since like Nasri.. they'll continue to look ridiculous in the transfer window.

They'll be due to look much better than Marseille once their Stadium is built and paid for. I think L'OM are fading slowly.

Marseille will be fine, methinks. As long as they hold on to Amalfitano, Valbuena, Gignac, Fanni, Mandanda, & N'Koulou. The teams I see that can make difficult for Marseille are, Lille and Saint Ettiene. Lyon & Bordeaux are just woeful this season.

Well 20 years ago Marseille won the European Cup and 20 years later they have 0 points in their group. This club just wasnt able to grow itself. Why I have no idea. AC Milan, they team they beat in 1993 is still a large European club. Granted they are down right now and not that good but they are still better and richer and a much bigger global brand than OM is. 20 years ago OM were kings of Europe and now they are zero in Europe. Blame it on high taxes, or Bosman, or bad management, or lack of a good youth setup. There's excuses abound. wrote:

Marseille finally win a game.. 2-1 over garbage Sochaux. Nantes keeps winning.. lol @ Marseille won't finish in the top 3 of a rather shallow league this season.

Yeah we suck.  Too many young players and that takes time.

Thauvin picking up form, which is good news.  Hope Baup starts playing Lemina and Mendy since they are both great prospects along with Imbula.

Let the kids get their teeth sharp.  Veterans are doing poorly and should be rotated.

Payet is the only poor investment so far... the others I like. Club invested in great youth talent, so immediate success was unlikely. Gignac not playing well is really what's killing the team. Control the game plenty well and create plenty of chances... just don't kill things off.

"Great", no you got players who have ceilings, but nothing you'll reap back like when L'OM signed Ribery or Drogba.

Should've signed Rami when you had the chance.. oh wait, too busy spending it on players like Alaixys Romao.

I think (and I don't get to follow OM or French League) OM took a gamble. Seeing that most of their rivals (bar PSG 'n Monaco) don't have a great squad or the money to build a great squad, they invested heavily on youth. I don't think they planned anything other than CL for 2-3 seasons.

Last year it worked. This year, for whatever reasons it's not working (yet).

None of them will help Marseille get over the hump. Especially once Lyon's new Stadium is finished, all that money will come pouring in from Aulas and company into the club instead into the New Gerland.

lol @ thinking any of those players will stick around Marseille long enough to even be important. ahahahahahahahaha.

Small club, with small club ambitions. Stay small L'OMal

lol... we only sell if we miss CL. Then the club need to sell to make up the loss of 20+ mil in revenue. Otherwise, we stay with out guys. Always been like that tbh.

Thauvin is absolutely on fire now. He's scored 6 goals and 3 assists in 3 U23 NT games now.

"U-23 NT Games now"

wow... who cares?? lmao, that's not a good barometer for how good his talent would transcend to a higher level. Like on the French NT...

Speaking of which, plz stop being a coward and defend the BS you spewed in the French thread. merci sports

I'm supposed to answer every stupid troll post like yours Laughing.... i don't need to defend anything.  The team had a terrible game.  Even Spain got a draw against Finland in Spain that almost cost them in WCQ.  Chelsea PTB and countered against barca and bayern... does that make them better?  Mou does it all the time and gets results too.  It works.  Doesn't make the other team better... it just makes them good at anti-footy, which is exactly what Ukraine does.  Besides, there's s second game on Tuesday and 0-2 is not unsurmountable at all.

Also, Thauvin has 3 goals and 1 assist in his last games with OM including a great game at Napoli in CL.  So go frak yourself here too.

You should stop posting opinions about french football because a) you're an obvious troll who watches nothing or b) you're blind.  Either way, it doesn't look good for you Laughing

You're officially on my ignore list. So won't see anything further from you thankfully.
