Zealous, you are not going to convince sport to agree with you. because he is not looking at both sides here.

my point was that we cant forget that iker leaked info to his girlfriend and allowed her to go to the media and confirm that there has been fights.

and way before this happened mourinho said that there was someone in the dressing room that was not on his side and giving the media info, thats why he crucified that journalist when the info about the goal keeping coach came out.

mourinho is the same person in front the scene as well as behind the scene. iker on the other hand doesnt displays any public negativity. which i think is good but people let that image fool them into think he is beyond wrongdoing.

no player should be bigger than the manager. thats the reason why real madrid was so poor when raul was at his highest politically. thats why spain never won till he was out.

the thing with mourinho is that he want the team to believe in him, thats his coaching style allowing all the players to come together for him. you have to be with him. ramos got the memo, he had problems with mourinho but had the sense to put the team first. why didnt casillas?

So before Sara spoke you actually thought everything was fine and all in the dressing room? Again, Sara didnt reveal anything people didnt already knew. she confirmed nothing, it was a well established fact that the dressing room was pulling in all directions, away from mou mostly. you really make a big deal out of nothing.

Until you can actually prove that Iker leaked anything, you cant accuse him of wrong doing, since Sara gave absolutely 0 details. of course she is his girlfriend and he talks to her, but how do you know that he spoke to other medias?

And again, what is this about iker not putting the team first? when did he ever do otherwise. i dont know where you guys get this stuff but there is nothing backing up what you actually accuse Casillas of. Ramos put the team first because you saw him hugging mourinho?

Im pretty sure casillas was trying to get himself together in a tumultuous context in which his own manager wasnt supporting him. why should casillas embrace a manager that gives him no apparent support? coaching is not a one way affair, mourinho cant treat everyone badly and then expect to be loved for the sake of the team, it clearly doesnt work like that and our results this season show just that.

Casillas would have done his best to help the team to success, just like everyone in the team. It's really shitty to act like he was pulling in the opposite direction because it's simply not true.

For the record I'm not really angry at Iker or want him to leave or anything like that. Just disappointed in how he handled this season coupled with the fact that he hasn't played well.

Jose Mourinho: "Very few can think that Real Madrid future is not about Varane and Ramos"

Jose Mourinho: "I have no problem with Iker Casillas. I prefer Diego López, simple as that"

Jose Mourinho: "Nacho at the moment is evolving and I like him. Varane and Ramos are the future of Madrid"

Some nice comments there Smile

Interesting that he's praising Ramos now, shows Ramos actually tried to work harder and prove to Mou that he was wrong, i like his mentality.

Sergio gets huge kudos for putting the team first. IMO he's the one that comes out of all this looking like a true champ/warrior.

is the underlying assumption here that Casills refused to put the team first? because i recall him not even getting a minute of play time since he was injured.

He didn't deserve a minute imo. D Lopez was playing very well. Even then Iker's journalist friends were always suggesting that Iker should start, that Iker should play, that the defence hasn't been keeping clean sheets etc.

Sanchis recently said that press leaks are the reason this team can't deal with issues amongst themselves since it creates a sense of distrust about what is said in the locker room. I agree with him and while I can't prove it for sure I'm pretty confident that Iker has been leaking info for a while now.

Hmmmm... even AVB gives Friedel more respect at the Spurs than Madrid give Iker here, which is truly a shame. Despite Lloris being clearly the superior keeper, AVB played Friedel in Europa so that he stayed sharp and out of respect for what he had done for the club all these years.

Yet at Madrid, we can't even give Iker playing time in meaningless La Liga games. Not only would that appease the fans and the media a bit, it would help Spain NT. And who knows... maybe Iker shows why he's considered one the top 5 keepers EVER in the history of football.

Yeah... makes sense. Let's just bury a hero that is still in his prime years for absolutely no reason other than to feed the ego of the mf-er we have as a manager.

Great madridistas. Just great lol.

Mourinho's time here is (probably thankfully at this point) over and Iker is far from a weak victim in all of this. Mou like we all knew would happen eventually will not be here any more so let's move on from him and the drama surrounding him.

Next season Casillas will be a starter again and all will be well (unless he starts playing below standard again)

"I like Diego Lopez as a goalkeeper more than Casillas. It’s not personal, I just like him more. I like a goalkeeper that comes out and dominates the airspace and plays with his feet. Iker is fantastic under the posts and I can also say that he likes a coach like Del Bosque or with adifferent profile more. One’s more offensive, the other defensive…I have the right to say this and with me, in normal conditions, Diego Lopez is going to play. People can say what they want, I accept that but please respect a coach who decides who plays.”

Fair play to Jose, I'll always support the concept of letting the manager make decisions no questions asked. He's the guy on the chopping block when it's all said and done.

Yeah, but at the end of the day, the team is for the fans of the club, the city and the country. Those are the stakeholders. You cannot have a manager that makes decisions that are completely contrary to everything your stakeholder base looks for.

Complete insensitivity and failure of leadership by Mou.

I feel for diego Lopez once Mourinho is gone.

Also , Mourinho would have not bought Lopez if Casillas hasn't been injuried. And it was pretty clear that Adan was never going to be n1. My point is Mourinho benched Casillas just to motivate him with a bit of competition. That's how Mourinho works. Being benched at the start of the season is not such a big deal. He did the same thing with di maria , Higuain/Benzema etc ..

Problems were: 1-the press 2-Casillas could have stayed calm and kept working harder. Actually the injury has messed up what Mou was trying to do.

Mourinho is right in saying that lopez is better rounded than casillas. but we are talking about casillas and he could have been treated better. that being said, if casillas doesnt prove to be good next year again then he will have to endure more competition, that's fair.

Diego has looked faultless in madrid, he i a tad slowish but h made top saves. dont know how he could have done better

There was a lot more to it previously than that Benin... the team was in disarray in December and Mou needed to reassert authority. This was the best way for him to do it. He had nothing to lose. If we continued on that form, we would have ended with our worst point total in La Liga in over 30 years.

Remember that our first half point total in La Liga was historically terrible for the club.

and stop this BS that ''Mou is the manager so he is allowed to play politics ''.. There are managers who gets work done with out using politics.

Mou's politics ultimately failed in Madrid as well.

iker is a legend but he was awful and got benched, the fact that the media is running to his side is in poor taste cause basically any time iker sucks who is gonna have the balls to bench him, without getting roasted?

You guys just had a great season before and i remenber many of RM fans talking about how well et cut out for a brilliant future the team was. I was even worried.
Then the season started and, correct me if i'm wrong, Oziland co was simply playing badly. My point is even before all the drama some players were just bad. Did Mourinho failed to re-motivate them as they finally took the title from us ? Should Mourinho have bring in new players instead of trusting his ''champions'' ?

Re: Sara carbonero depreciation thread

Post by sportsczy on Tue May 07, 2013 7:02 pm

The clubhouse actually fractured in preseason. Mourinho had made certain promises to certain players to keep them at the club when they wanted to transfer after last season. He reneged on everything he said. Players are friends with other players.... so that created a toxic environment. The players Mou backed didn't pan out and then he couldn't go back to those he deceived with any credibility. Basically, it became a mess. Since he couldn't use persuasion and guile to get players to perform.... he had to find a way to lead through power and fear imo. That's why Iker was sacrificed. He was sending a message by benching the most storied and powerful figure among the players.

The only bright spot this season has been our performances against Barca. That's it. We haven't played well at all because we don't have team spirit. A lot of people are playing for themselves as opposed to the collective... that's the biggest difference with last year. It's Mou's fault to large extent. Iker and Ramos could have rallied unity around themselves... but they didn't because of their dislike of Mou. So they take a small share of the blame too.

Just a poor example of leadership by Mou this year.

It didn't help that he went on and on about how great England the EPL are. And when we beat Man U... the best he could say is that the better team did not win lol.

i dont know how anyone can argue against your point.

i like mourinho, i really hope that the team doesnt crumble when he leaves, because this team was in shambles before he came.

i hope the fans remember how poor we where before. some fans are either really fickle or have just started supporting the club.

i hope we can move on seamlessly and not have to go through a rough patch next . i hope iker learns from this as well.
