Liverpool have AGREED a £142m deal to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona. Sad

The fee for the 25-year-old is €160m (£142m). Liverpool will receive £105m up front, with the rest in performance-related add-ons. :brickwall:

Do we have some seven-grader handling our negotiation?

*bleep* this guy.

Even when Suarez and Torres left it was fine, but to leave mid way through a season when your UCL tied is ridiculous.

tbh its easy to see why he went now. he cant play champions lge for barca but he had no chance of winning it with Liverpool either. he has no chance of winning the title with Liverpool but he will win it with barca. plus if he ruins his ACL from now till the end of the season he wont get the move he wants.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was promised to be sold in Jan by FSG from the summer lmao
Anyway, Klopp doesn't want players at the club that aren't 100% committed to the club. I'mma miss the guy, but Klopp's ALL about squad harmony and wanting everyone on the same page, so I can see why he was reluctant to let him go. Let's just hope we can bring in a replacement because we already lack options in midfield as it is.

I hope this doesn't transcends into another Torres-Carroll saga. Don't mind Coutinho leaving now but we must be careful about signing someone. No panic buy or paying over the top please.

We'll always pay over the top, we just paid 75 for vvd. The markets gone apeshit and they know we have money.

He has been dominant this preseason with or without Coutinho. Coutinho is very good but he's replaceable and not "as good as it gets". Great players always look better with other great players around them but with guys like Mane, Salah and co. Firmino will be fine...he was feeding even relatively average players chances on a plate. He's going to be unstoppable this season with the other attacking threats he'll have around him to make full use of how he causes havoc to other defenses, his creativity and unselfishness up front.

Firmino is life.
