Yo Mama was a Shrew

Well, substitute "ancient bug-eating shrew-like animal" for "shrew" and "last common ancestor of all placental mammals" for "yo mama" and it's true enough, anyway.

Thriugh extensive genetic testing and research scientists have determined that animal in the image above was the last shared ancestor of all placental mammals. That category includes whales, bats, dogs, bears, elephants, tigers and even humans... basically every mammals except opossums and the freakshow that is Australia (I kid, Aussies). All from that wee little beastie.

A bit humbling, no?
