Not sure if I'll like the maps and the overall style of the game etc. No point just getting the game just for the sake of it and just because it's the 'latest' CoD.

No it didn't....

Activision specifically noted in its announcement that it "sold more than $1 billion of Call of Duty: Ghosts into retail stores worldwide as of day one," meaning the figure is made up of units sold to retailers and not necessarily sales to consumers.

Basically means they shipped one billion worth of copies.... doesn't mean they sold them all in fact its almost certain they didn't and we won't know until the figures have actually been announced.

Anything to drum up positive interest into a dying franchise though.

Are you lot genuinely enjoying it, are you enjoying it more than some other past CODs?

Or, is it just the 'new game hype' where even if you don't like it that much, you feel that you're enjoying it for a few weeks purely because it's completely new to you?

The latter. I like this one better than Black Ops 2, though. I'll probably enjoy it more, once I get used to the new maps. I still run around like a headless chicken, sometimes. I've noticed that, whenever I'm lagging, my screen starts to become choppy and the FPS starts dropping frequently. I can't remember something like this happening in past CoDs. It's really frustrating, and it affects my performance a lot more than it's ever done previously. It happened both today, and during a short period yesterday. It's occurs similarly to how live football streams start lagging just before an attack is being initiated, or a free kick/penalty is being taken. I died so many times today, because everything started freezing in short intervals, just as I spotted an enemy. Maybe it's an issue related to digital downloads of the game? I wonder if I'm the only one who's experienced this issue, or if it's something that can be patched. And why the hell did they remove the latency indicator?

I quite enjoy running around with shotguns in this game, although they barely have any range proficiency at all - getting kills with them is quite satisfactory :POne thing I've noticed in this game, is that I don't feel like I dominate this game at all. On any of the previous CoD games, taking on 2 or 3 people at the same time didn't necessarily mean that the odds of winning were on their side. On MW3, for instance.. you could take out campers that were shooting at you from behind, if you reacted fast enough. I hardly ever manage to take on 2 opponents at the same time in this game, because you die so fast from getting shot at. Racking up a lot of kills is fairly easy if you avoid getting gangbanged, though. I feel that this game is more about making the right runs through the maps, than anything else. On MW3, for instance.. it didn't really matter that much how I went about running through the map, because I could survive taking a few hits, and the maps were relatively small, so I would run into people all the time. I unlocked the Famas/Type 95/M16A4- type burst gun earlier today, and it is insanely overpowered in this game. I'm sure they'll nerf it soon. Until then, I'm going to use it

Thanks for this. Yeah I've had a lot of success with COD down the years but I also tend to get very angry when annoying things happen, so the reported frame rate lag drop worries me a bit

They removed the latency bar thing? Damn it, that is so useful on COD.

I'm always cautious when looking for reviews in a new COD game. On one side you have major games reviewers who seem to give COD a glorious write up out of fear or fanboyism or something else, on the other hand you have groups of people who bash it because it's so popular and find 'faults' that aren't really there.

This is why i'm asking here instead of reading a random persons opinion. I reckon i'll get it tbh, pretty sure I have you added. I'll be looking to play with people on GL a lot. I don't like playing multiplayer games on my own. Random people irritate me

I am enjoying it alot more than BO2 & MW3. Been playing it solo non stop since launch day except last night with Thimmy and his friends.

So if I buy COD from GAME and I want to swap it for a ps4 version how does that work?

First of all, how long does the offer last for?

Secondly, is it a straight disc for disc swap, or is it in exchange for a digital download code type thing?

Because I probably won't bother with a ps4 until half way through next year, so if the offer doesn't stand for too long it's pretty pointless shopping at GAME seeing as they're a rip off.

Straight swap as long as u keep the receipt obviously. Offer is there till 24th December. U gotta exchange before it. Think u can also exchange it for money but not sure

Yeah, I really miss that latency bar :/ One thing I like about Norwegian game reviews, is that unlike the big English and American game review sites, Norwegian game reviewers don't seem to care as much about being criticised for their opinionated articles and final verdicts. I read a game review on the campaign mode in Ghosts, and the norwegian game review site, Pressfire gave it 2/6. Here's how they summed it up:

Pros:
The campaign mode had some positive parts.
Good weapon handling and overall playability.

Cons:
Awfully poorly executed storyline.
Autopilot ... on.
Braindead shooting simulator.
Recycling of old tricks.


It would've been really cool if we could make a Ghosts party, consisting of only Goal legacy members. MTfooz, the MSBS assault rifle and Amplify Sound perk are waiting for you

Yeah although I will play single player, I judge cod on multiplayer

MW3s campaign was possibly my favourite but the game was awful to me.

As long as it feels similar to other COD's and there's plenty of unlockables to keep me occupied, i'll be fine with it.

Actually, it feels quite different from past CoDs, in my opinion. It uses the same engine as past CoDs, though. Campaign-wise, my favourite was Black Ops 2, I think.
