That’s just testament to how long they’ve been in a slump

At least he proudly represents and supports his local team.

Barcelona fan tries to discredit the success of Real Madrid. Duh.
Still funny seeing his stooges agree with him though.

I'm not really discrediting them, just pointing out what should be obvious that the distinct lack of league success matters or in the teams in question case league dominance matters.
Pep is clearly showing he respects the consistency of winning 7 league titles in a decade as he should.

With Barcelona fan, I meant Guardiola, but interesting that you count yourself as one

That's actually wildly inaccurate because if Madrid makes a mistake they get bailed out by the referee.
If we are holding that against Madrid, then same should apply to Barca. Both of Pep's CL wins were assisted by MOTM performance by refgistas in the semis.

All big teams get favours tbh, don't know why people make a big deal out of it.
With that said that didn't happen in 2011, Pepe deserved to be sent off as i assume that's what you're alluding to.

Strømsgodset is my local club (Martin Ødegaard’s local and first club). The last time I checked, they were struggling. A lot of relatively good players have come up through our youth system, but Strømsgodset are basically a really poor man’s Dortmund, and every time they get close to looking like a title challenging team, they sell all of their best players and start over from scratch. I want them to succeed, but they’re never going to get anywhere with their current business model. They’re not Ajax or Dortmund. Ain’t no one..
At least, Newcastle buys some decent to good players every now and then.

I can't call myself a fan since I hardly ever watch their games of my own initiative. I tried following them on a more consistent basis, a few years ago, and they actually finished second place in the league while playing a surprisingly high level of football. And then.. the coach left for Celtic, and every single one of their best players went abroad, or to bigger, local clubs. My heart can't take any of that crap. I've met a lot of hardcore Strømsgodset fans, but I don't think it's a coincidence that they're all alcoholics

First Pep disregards Real Madrid and now he gave the title to Liverpool. I hope a bird shits on his bald head tbh.

This:
...and this:
Btw, fans being unsatisfied because their team didn't win CL is something else than how the things really are objectively speaking when it comes to which were the top teams in the last decade.
I am not saying it's easy to win UCL or that it doesn't matter, but I think Pep was pretty much right.

Pep is right, you may not like it but when talking about success Madrid's utter failures in their own league is rightly held against them.
Winning the league and CL is significantly more difficult because you don't get to prioritise one and give up the other like Madrid has.
Not to mention it means you aren't even the best in your own league lol.

I don't think many disagree with this, but I also don't think that many people would claim that they value the league title more than winning the Champions League.

Re: Pep Guardiola appreciation thread
Pep is right my arse a lot of teams ain't winning anything domestic or Europe, the only reason real madrid winning 4 CL in 5 years isn't a big deal is because it's real madrid, always the underdogs and undeserving winners based nothing but hipster rubbish, could you imagine if superbayern had smashed rm like everybody wanted and they won 2 CL with pep, how overrated him and that bayern team would be today, but rm just lucky bunch of plebs.
the only reason why madrid doesn't win more leagues is because cr always stumbles in the crucial games and finish strong when there nothing to lose simple.

Re: Pep Guardiola appreciation thread
Of course Pep is going to put more stock in winning the league than the CL, that's all he managed to win since leaving Barça.
If consistency in the league mattered more than winning multiple Champions Leagues, Mancini's Inter would be held in higher esteem and remembered more fondly than Ancelotti's Milan, and we all know that's not the case.
