Ancelotti and Madrid reach verbal agreement - 'Le Parisien'
http://www.as.com/english/articulo/ancelotti-and-madrid-reach-verbal/20130220dasdenspo_5/Ten
This is who we will probably replace Mou with
Alot of you want Mou to go but there are no viable replacements in the market, and Madrid won't experiment and go for a unknown coach, that's just not us.
French newspaper 'Le Parisien' has reported that Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti have reached a verbal agreement that will see the Italian taking over as coach of 'Los Blancos' next season.
Madrid president Florentino Pérez has long been an admirer of Ancelotti, the current coach of Paris Saint-Germain, and the Italian's future in France is up in the air, with speculation linking Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Madrid boss José Mourinho to the job.
According to 'Le Parisien', Ancelotti is relaxed about his future, as he has received a number of offers from high profile clubs. Liverpool and Manchester City are believed to have made contact with him in December, but it is the job at the Santiago Bernabéu which he is more interested in than any other.
Madrid wanted to hire Ancelotti in 2009 immediately after Florentino won the club's presidential elections. The Italian has a clause in his contract which guarantees him a new deal with PSG should the club finish in the top three in Ligue 1 this season, but he has admitted he would be open to leaving the club.
"If the club are not happy with me, I will have no problem in leaving," he said in an interview with L'Equipe.
The 53-year-old has not spent a season without a club since he began coaching in 1995. Since then he has coached Reggina, Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG.
He enjoyed his most successful period with Milan, who he coached between 2001 and 2009 and where he won two Champions Leagues, one Serie A title, the Club World Cup, and two European Super Cups.
This is who we will probably replace Mou with

Ancelotti is a classy guy. He'll smile and he won't rock the boat too much.
He's not clueless by any means imo but his league record isn't that great. I think he can succeed here though. We have the players that his systems usually employ.

Decent Coach, but he is Italian
I would rather have a Spanish coach. It goes a long way being Spanish in Madrid.
RM should get Del Bosque back, even if it requires Perez begging him. He is 10 yrs younger than Sir. Alex. I would spend more money on getting him than buying an unwanted player like Bale.

Re: Ancelotti and Madrid reach verbal agreement - 'Le Parisien'
Mourinho is the only coach that can manage the pressures of the this real madrid job.
he is the only one with the attitude and characteristics to stand up to the upper management of the club, and has the accomplishments to back up his bark.
people want him to go. but like se7en said there are no good options.
he is the best there is and if we sack him, this will get so bad.

@Cyborg - I totally agree with you.
Unfortunately general perception is he may leave. In which case as you said I don't see any acceptable (Spanish) options except for Del Bosque.

Re: Ancelotti and Madrid reach verbal agreement - 'Le Parisien'
I don't think Ancelloti should even be in the debate, I don't rate him much, He took over PSG when they were in top spot but managed to lose out to Montpellier. He could easily lose this year's title to either Marseille or Lyon, despite the two having vastly inferior squads.
Winning just 2 league titles 17 or so years of management despite coaching very good teams does not speak well of him. Bottom line is if you want league titles, Ancelloti is the wrong man, his Champions League record though is up there with the very best in the game.
I think Madrid should do everything in it's power to keep Mourinho, if that is not possible, it would be better to go in for someone like Jurgen Klopp but I doubt even him would last long, all that would be required is a Marca campaign against him and players like Casillas and Ramos adding fuel to the fire.

Ancelloti isn't a bad manager. We can do a lot worse than him.

That's just a prediction at this point. No one knows what might happen if either join.

Re: Ancelotti and Madrid reach verbal agreement - 'Le Parisien'
You cant even compare Carlo to that fat sack of crap, look at his record over the last few seasons:
At Chelsea he won the double in his first season and in the next he was on David Luiz brain explosion from winning it again and finished second, in those seasons we we're knocked out fo the CL by Inter (who won it that season) and United (who lost the final to Barca)
Although he did choke his first season at QSG this season hes been elading the league pretty much all season after the poor start and is doing well in the CL thus far, a competition OL and OM arent competing in btw
and even before that at Milan he won two CLs and in the league he still managed to be competitive despite the match fixing scandal ruining his team and giving Inter all the talent

Both managers (beneitz and ancelotti) have completely different phylosiphies, but both sucks equally bad.
We can do much better then these two, i would rather have klopp, if not then jaqeum low.

you're ignoring how our current manager, mourinho, tactically outclassed him in that game

At last, some sense lol
I'm not a Carlo fan but I'm not against us signing him either. He's good and we've had much worse coaches than him.
Benitez can fck off though.

Back then Mourinho didnt lose at home

Im sure if i looked back through the archives i could find a Milan derby where Carlo outclassed Mou too.
As far as that game if concerned look at that Inter team and look at our team, Malouda at LB ffs

Remember, that Inter team doinated Europe, look at the quality there, he had Eto'o, Milito, Sneijder and Maicon all in their prime at his disposal

It's easy to say that now but the summer before no one really believed these guys would conquer Europe.
Hindsight is 20/20

One thing is having the quality of the squad (talent wise) but the hardest thing is to make is assemble them as a team imo. Chelsea and City are prime examples.@fatman123 wrote:And to anyone putting Benitez and Carletto in the same basket, im seriously wondering the last time you watched a football game

Re: Ancelotti and Madrid reach verbal agreement - 'Le Parisien'
the lack of respect for Benitez is shocking to say the least
Benitez has won a Champions League, UEFA Cup, FA Cup and 2 Ligas
He is no scrub and the disgraceful treatment from the Chelsea fans and players is the only reason he is doing badly(which isnt even that bad, they are 4 points from 2nd and are still involved in the FA Cup and UEFA Cup)
I would not be too sad if Benitez came here. He knows the club and loves the club. He owes alot to us, after his career as a footballer went up in smokes, Real Madrid gave him a chance. I believe the players will give him a chance. At Inter, he wanted to change things after Mourinho which the players did not like. He simply chose a wrong job

Re: Ancelotti and Madrid reach verbal agreement - 'Le Parisien'
Benitez has also never left a club on good terms. He's just as bad as Mourinho in terms of stirring up trouble except he hasn't won nearly as much trophies.
The fact that he hasn't won anything since 2005 where his team benefited from bogus ref decisions doesn't help things either.
I like the guy in general but I think he's not good enough I hope we never offer him the head coach job.
