Thanks For This Day

Post by messixaviesta on Wed Apr 24, 2013 9:55 pm

Its one thing to be hammered when you have a cancer patient as your coach. Its another thing when an extremely healthy ruffian is your coach.

Its one thing to be hammered when you have a visibly injured Messi on the pitch. Its another thing when its a perfectly healthy Cristiano instead.

Its one thing to be hammered by the supposed best team in the world. Its another thing when you are hammered by a so called underdog.

So to whomsoever it may concern, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS DAY. Like last year the very next night has alleviated half my pain.

This UCL absolutely DESERVES a Dortmund vs. Bayern final. JUST BRING IT!!!

Also I haven't said this before but for the first time ever yours truly says that Germany are now capable of winning WC 2014. The talent was always there but the players just weren't stepping up when it mattered. It has all changed this season leading to immense collective confidence.

On a more sombre note, this Dortmund side is simply BEAUTIFUL and its so CRUEL that the money mongers are hell bent on destroying it very soon.

Bless you Deepak. I thought of you briefly on how you would feel and the justified relief of viewing Madrid decimated like this by Klopp's boys. I also know this because you and I both dislike Mourinho along with not rating his tactical ability.

It presents a great feature to take a near insurmountable burden of pressure to Barca which could have destabilized their very inner confidence right down to the core. Fortunately, Fraudulent Mou attempted his best to present this facet to Barcelona.

Last night doesn't reflect on Barca for countless reasons and factors to which I have already explained. It will actually do wonders for their team as such polarities in football through emotions and results is needed. It well and truly is, just like the great Pep himself said.

I just got done watching (most) of the game.

All I can say is I got a bit emotional watching Madrid get destroyed like that.

I'm not going to say it makes the Barca loss hurt any less...but it's like laughter. It's been good medicine. Today at least. It really was a sight to behold.

Makes you wonder, how things would have been if both Spanish teams got the first leg at home. Real lost to freakin Glatasaray away ffs. We didn't win a single away game in the knock out stages. But at home we have conceded less and scored more. We have had a history of being below our par away from home and then going beserk at home. Either way, Bayern and Dortmund deserve all the credit.

and LOL at Real today, so refreshing Smile

I would go so far as to say that in just my view Dortmund played even better than Bayern. In the first match the 4-0 scoreline flattered Bayern a little. It could have been 3-1 or so. In the second match however the 4-1 scoreline flattered Real Madrid. It really should have been 6-0.

Now we will have the heart to celebrate the impending La Liga title. Mourinho can take a coffee cup as his going away present but even that Simeone could still deny him.

Is there anyone around that Real Madrid can hire right now who is as good as Juergen Klopp? I suppose they cannot hire Jupp Heynckes due to the past problems with Perez. So I think Madrid may now start chasing Klopp if they haven't done already.

It's being strongly rumored that Mourinho is moving to Chelsea and that he had already had his son admitted to school there. Didn't think he and Abramovich could reconcile but seems to be happening now.

AVB is doing a cracking job at Tottenham right now, and he did amazingly well at Porto obviously- that one goes without saying. His experience with Chelsea might put clubs like Madrid off, but boy can I tell you, he's a changed man from his days at Chelsea. Gone is his arrogance, his stubbornness-- he's so loved at White Hart Lane, the fans love him, the players love him (I remember after a 3-2 injury time winner vs West Ham Bale immediately went over and hugged AVB, showing his love for AVB in giving Bale a free role in the middle of the park), and the staff love him. His arrogance, resistance to change- gone. He has adopted a 4-2-3-1 for the majority of the season, but has played a 4-4-2 as well. On occasion, he changes back to his preferred 4-3-3, his flexibility has been put on show at Tottenham with an ever-changing/injured backline (similar to Barca's), and he's handled it impressively.

When faced with the gruesome reality of Tottenham conceding goals late on earlier in the season, he quickly fixed the issue, changing practice and looking at the issue. It was fixed very quickly. He's a changed man and he looks brilliant. If he finishes top 4 with this Tottenham team he's a real candidate for manager of the year. This is a Tottenham team let's not forget that lost Modric, VDV, and King in one year-- 3 crucial players in last years campaign.

Is he as good as Klopp? I think perhaps he's a bit young to judge, but AVB's potential is certainly unlimited, and if given the freedom to operate, he can be brilliant (sometimes incredibly stupid too). He would be a Pep like appointment for Madrid, if they are willing to go for it.

Otherwise I can really only think of Jupp as the other candidate.

Also about the whole AVB thing....Madrid will need some luck getting AVB out of Tottenham. He's a real fan favorite and the man loves it in North London. I tip him to stay a couple more years...while he would be nice in the long term, the cruel reality is that he's probably too good for a team like the Spurs, and will move on in a year or two after this year.

CB, wonderful comments. A few comments from my side.

Did Tottenham lose VDV? I always felt they intentionally sold him.

Jupp I certainly thought of but his past problems with Perez make it a near impossibility I guess.

BTW I cheered wildly for you guys when you turned around the match against ManCity so dramatically last weekend!!! What a performance. Huddlestone is such an underrated player. He certainly deserves to play more minutes, somewhere, anywhere. A masterful substitution though.

He was sold...he was one of Redknapp's men and didn't react well to AVB, this in addition to wanting to go back to Germany facilitated his leaving. But the points remains that he was "lost" like Modric and King- or, not returning for the next season. Huddlestone has a lot of talent but his mobility is a big problem and he's very inconsistent, but yes he was key to an amazing comeback vs City the other weekend, as key as AVB was. Glad to see you watched the game JD Thumbs up

But we are getting a bit off topic here huh? That's alright.

rofl Madrid.

Better.

Well the tie is not effectively over yet, and stranger things in football have happened. Let's hope BVB wins the return game as well Very Happy.

If BVB qualify i want them to win the CL. I really like them over Bayern.

Agree completely. A great precedent is Milan-Deportivo 2003-04. In fact if I remember correctly the scoreline then was the very same 4-1 as is now. That said it would be a catastrophe. If this wonderful wonderful team were to undo all the great work that they have done so far I can't even state in words how shattered I would feel.

I also favor Dortmund. In fact I call them my second favorite team in the world but I don't mind either German club winning the trophy. For me both are kind of just as good. Most are saying Bayern are by far the best but I think it's mainly that they have a stronger deeper squad. First eleven wise and coach wise Dortmund is so par with them. At least I feel so.

I really liked Dortmund always. Did not watch them much, and i too dont mind Bayern winning but i prefer Dortmund as they are my favorite team in Germany. I consider Arsenal as my second team, but i like ManU as well. Only in Italy i have no clear favorites. I tend to like Juve, Milan and Roma at different times.

Interesting. In Germany I liked Bayern but now I like Dortmund even more. In Spain I also like most of the immediate next group of teams such as Atletico, Valencia, Sevilla, etc. In Italy I like Roma and then at different times Juventus and Milan. In England I now like Tottenham and Newcastle thanks to CB and mole respectively. Smile ManUtd I have grown to like more over the years. Liverpool I like as well.

Athletic, Atletico, Vilareal and Valencia are all likable. Sevila are just thugs, but i enjoy how they treat RM. Betis and Sociedad sometimes amaze me, especially when they play Barca, they do have balls of steel. Very Happy

Jose Mourinho winning La Decima for Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo in the team would have been without doubt my worst moment in football.

So thankful it didn't happen. Now it seems that Mourinho is leaving this summer. If that happens then I can forever put the possibility of this nightmare to rest.

The three in bold are my three greatest enemies in football. What I wish for is for all three of them to go completely separate ways. Even one going out would be nice. The three have been together for three years and its just not good for my health. Sometimes the hatred in my mind and heart is just too much to take.
