Simeone Appreciation Thread

Post by Albiceleste on Fri May 17, 2013 11:14 pm

He has turned Atleti into winners, the first madrid derby atleti win in over a decade and its at the bernabeu in a cup final! He also was ahead of Madrid most of the time in the league.

one of the most underrated managers

Simeone is an underdog coach, careful what you wish for. if you are a top team, stay away. if you team is struggling to become reelevant, he will do brillitantly

According to...? Besides pre-implosion River where things went to further hell after he left.

I don't disagree that that'll be the conclusion after all is said and done, but it's not a lock by any means

Diego would be a fool to leave Atleti where he is worshiped to join a side like Inter with no real spending power, and where he would be pressured from day 1.

And nick Simeone has only coached 1 club at the highest level. He has made Atleti his own team. Way to early to judge Simeone as just an underdog coach. Unless an argie can confirm??

According to who? Blatant bullshit.

Great motivator, gets the most out of his players, gets them to sacrifice 110% to the cause, fierce mentality and builds a strong group. Not much of a tactical masatermind or a long term project builder, so I'm not prepared to call him elite. But definitely a name for the future.

Yet more bullshit. He came in at mid-season when they struggled and got them a midtable finish, which is where you would expect Catania to be. Without a pre-season to instill his ideas or a say in the transfers i don't think he can be judged on 4 months of work there.

van Bommel made a few harsh tackles here and there yet his character and its respective characteristics has everyone ignore that. Man is very classy.

And I'm kidding Dany Wink

I usually have banter with Argentines vice-versa. Stereotypes like these belong with the age old and tiresome stereotypes towards Italians for example.

Simeone is a great great coach

when he came to Atleti he did what Pep did when he joined Barca, he go rid of all the bad boys he couldn't work with and look at them now

The way he ushers his team like that on the sidelines is something out of the ordinary, he even gets Arda Turan to track back like a horse. He was an Atleti legend as a player and will be an Atlwti legend as a manager

Mou should learn from coaches like him instead of pointing at the trophies won when he gets criticised. which is why I want a madridista as our next coach preferably somebody who has been at the club for a long time maybe Valdano

All year banging on about the décima (the 10th), all decade in fact, and it turned out they were right: this was the year of the décima … just that instead of Madrid's 10th European Cup, it was Atlético's 10th Spanish Cup. In 18 months, Diego Simeone has won as much as José Mourinho in three years.

Wenger isn't even good. he is like a b team coach

buys unknown players makes them good and then sells them off

I doubt they will finish higher than fourth next season either
