No.

In Glory, Mourinho only big himself up. Simeone didn't do that tonight....he gave all the plaudits to his players.

Mourinho is Ghenghis Khan to Simeone's Gandhi,

Get over yourself mate lol.

He said he's a fantastic leader who has his players run into brick walls for him.... tick.

He's talking about Simeone's actions against England over the Beckham fiasco i think....

You can't call him a Ghandi to someone who is English, which would be fair if i hadn't forgotten all about it Laughing

Ah, right. No, I think most English fans hated Beckham for that rather than Simeone and his reaction.

Beckham was absolutely vilified for his act of petulance and blamed for our exit in 98.

You can't compare winning La Liga with Atletico, to winning Liga Sagres with Porto.

and Simeone is a brilliant tactician. The first leg, all their crosses was blocked left right and centre, this game, he analyzed it, and ordered chipped crosses to far post, which resulted in first and 3rd goal. Simple, yet very lovely and effective.

and People run through bricks for every single successful manager. United fans did for SAF, Barca did for Pep, same with Mou and etc. it's not only a Mou thing.

and me getting over myself? says the man who talked so much trash about R.Madrid all season. eat that humble pie Molester Proud

No but i can compare Mou winning the CL with Porto to Simeone winning the CL with Atletico, should they do that.

Also yes i did talk trash about Madrid and i was seemingly wrong, but i fail to see how that is relevant.

I'm not getting butthurt for no reason and insisting on bringing up Mou's attitude when it has nothing to do with my post or McAgger's post.

I actually think that Simeone winning the CL is more impressive than Mou's porto winning the CL considering the teams that Atletico has faced in the knockout staged.

But then again, I am not exactly unbiased against Mou..

Porto was worse than Atletico as squad anyway.

However there are really similarities between 2.

For example, Mourinho won Uefa Cup with Porto before of CL. Simeone has won the EL with Atletico too.

Atletico's wins over teams in the season's CL have been comprehensive and unquestionable. Porto benefited from some shitty decisions on their way to the cup and should never have got past Man Utd.

porto didn't have 120 million euros in revenue like atletico does .

manchester-lyon-deportivo ( who beat milan 4-0 ) was not a cakewalk .

No, but out of those teams, only Man Utd had over 100m+ revenue if I am not wrong, compared that to Milan, Barça and Chelsea, who all of them dwarves Atletico's revenue. And not to mention that Porto side got quite lucky against Man Utd(wrongly disallowed goal that would have sent porto out IIRC), and a bs sending off for a deportivo defender when he was joking with his friend Deco..

Don't agree. Deco, Maniche, Costa, Baía and Ferreira were no scrubs. And beating Monaco in the final is no big achievement.

Evra, Rothen, Morientes, Prso, Guily weren't scrubs either. Long story short, beating Monaco is not an achievement until you realise Porto beat them in a UCL final. A UEFA Champions League Final. Making it there is an achievement by itself.

I don't have said  they were scrubs ... I said just  Atletico Madrid was better than them . and no doubts about it. Although Simeone is the real top player of Atletico Madrid for me.
Simeone is simply a winning in DNA, as player and as coach (he was my favourite player after Ronaldo), always hated Lippi for having him sold because he quarreled with him in Juve-Inter 98.
I think Monaco ( I'd not underrate it ) also was better than Porto , on the other hand Monaco knocked out Real of Ronaldo and Chelsea ( Ranieri :facepalm:usual bottler manager. that Chelsea had to win the CL. )  but  Deschamps is not Mourinho .
At that time I supported Monaco in final , I liked that team and I thought they would have won this. Never imaged 0-3. Even AS Roma flop Alenitchev to score in final.

Anyway... Deco was a great player. No doubts about it . Baia is a very good GK.

Maniche lol .. I remembers hi to Inter 2008 . Absoutely   normal player, probably the last good thing made in career was that shot against Netherlands in 2004.
They would not have won CL with another manager.

yea that was a bizarre cl...and porto were a good team but no world beaters. gifted the win against utd, bs red card against deportivo, and beat monaco in the final. Yea monaco beat real, but i remember that season everyone and their mother was beating real in the runin. it was almost relegation form

Well infact I am remembering just now even Walter Samuel failed in that Real Madrid because it was a team with no balance...
Anyway this is the beauty of champions league,  the forecast on paper often are denied and who wins some credit must have it I suppose

Winning the CL with Atlético would be a great achievement, definitely on par with Porto's 2004 win. I don't understand why some people are saying it wasn't impressive though. Would it have been more better if we had defeated Juventus, Milan, Real Madrid or Chelsea, teams eliminated by Deportivo and Monaco? If Real beat Atlético, it will be as impressive as any other final. They may be underdogs, but they beat the big teams fair and square.

I don't think anyone thought Ferrer and Txiki would go for Simeone anyways.

PSG on the other hand... that could have been a mean team.
