David Alaba appreciation thread

Post by Abramovich on Mon May 27, 2013 6:02 pm

Why is he so underrated here? The kid has everything, pace, power, technique, a great shot, great passing range etc.

Best left back in the world now, Cole has lost it quite a bit now sad to say and Marcelo I admit he's a good attacker, great dribbles and he has improved defensively but he still isn't positionally all there imo.

Bow down to the new fullback god and appreciate

Ribery is more of a LB than he is tbf Laughing

The amount of times Ribery got back and made goal saving challenges in the final alone is shocking.

Alaba doesn't even have to defend Laughing

He's a great player but he couldn't wish for a better player in front of him.

He has been amazing in the champions league this season, though he has been helped alot by riberys diligence . I still think Alba and Cole are the best left backs in the world . In a few years it will be between Gibbs, Alba and Alaba .

He's underrated? I think most people can agree that he's a top fullback, even if most won't admit he's pretty much the best in the world. Yes, so suck it.

He's only 20, and his natural position is actually CM... but considering how stacked our midfield is, and his physical gifts, van Gaal saw the potential in him and put him at LB. Obviously leagues better than playing frakking Badstuber at left back (not that Badstuber is bad... but he's a frakking 1 legged turtle when it comes to pace).

The potential in this kid is scary.

I agree that he's helped out a lot by Ribéry... but that's just natural when you have 2 attack minded oriented players on the same wing. Whenever he's had to defend he's done so solidly enough.

Marcelo cannot defend and I can't see his defensive skills improving .

You are probably talking about pre 2010 Marcelo, coz he improved very much since then, and he is a pretty good defender, not a top one ofc.

Probably will grow into the most complete footballer ever.

He should be worth more than Pogba imo, but because he isn't as flashy he won't be rated higher.

Saying that he won't be leaving Bayern ever imo, what a wonderful player.
