Sorry, but to me Bale has been outstanding. He takes his shots... but is smart enough to use his teammates and play the space rather than forcing it. Also tracks back to my amazement. He understands the game.

Fantastic player.

Yeah, Bale has been brilliant. He's a hard worker and has proved to be quite effective. He can provide, he can finish, he can open up space, and more. And like sports said, he helps on defense quite often. Brilliant addition.

i don't see any problem with bale's football, he's still new and is brilliant technically, which isn't something i expected. he's also a very useful alternative for free kicks, which is needed, rather than have cron keep shooting knuckleball free kicks into the wall everytime....now cron can shoot the free kicks on the left and bale the ones on the right....bale is not a problem , and might i add, he's a relentless hard worker....however, i don't think he was really a necessity this year, the moneys could have been spent on a striker, but bale's here and is doing quite well if you ask me

+1

Dude is legit, absolute joy to watch and he hasn't pulled any superstar bullshit since he's come.

Once he gets integrated it's going to get ugly for opposing defences.

Totally agreed with sportz and zealous. Bale has been nothing but outstanding so far. He tracks back, he links up ,he makes runs ,he passes...he does every decisions correct to me.

Bale isnt a necessary? compare the way we play with Bale and with Di maria instead of him..massive difference.

I agree but Bale isn't really played at the expense of Di Maria, I think Di Maria was going to be on the bench this season regardless. I think Bale is played at the expense of Ozil.

Imagine a 4-2-2-2 with Ozil and Isco as the AMs, Ronaldo and Benzema ahead of them. Now that team would have balance.

Bale isn't the best technically, however he's more of a goalscoring winger so it doesn't matter too much. Di Maria's a different type of player.

Thing is bale knows his limits...

di maria always tries stupid shit.. not ONCE have i seen bale over work himself or do something outside of his limits, he always plays for the benefit of the team and never takes too many touches. unlike di maria who runs like a headless chicken. I would rather have a smart, athletic player then a retarded but technical player.

Nothing to take away on di marias part. he has his uses, and he really hounds opposing midfields with his workrate

The figures leave no room for doubt. Gareth Bale is one of the players who are contributing most to Real Madrid’s attack. In fact, he is the squad-member with the most assists in La Liga, on eight. He is also the team’s third highest scorer. Nine of the 65 goals which have made the Whites into La Liga’s highest scoring team are his.

Bale guarantees at least one goal or assist per match. The Madrid midfielder is the team-member who has contributed the most assists in La Liga. In the matches against Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla he managed two and against Celta Vigo, Real Sociedad, Valladolid and Villarreal, one. Also, only Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema have scored more goals than him. As well as his eight assists and nine goals in La Liga he has another assist in the Copa del Rey and two goals in the Champions League.

Former Real Madrid sporting director, Jorge Valdano sounded off on the club’s biggest transfer in history, stating Welsh winger, Gareth Bale is too anxious and that his teammates are covering for him.

In an interview with Cadena COPE’s ‘El Larguero’ programme, Valdano analysed Bale’s season up to this point and feels that the 24-year-old is absent.

“Bale has a rare anxiety because he doesn’t seem to be with the pace of the game.

“When you’re anxious, you play at a speed above what suits you, but he is absent. The team saves him. There are many points of attention, including Jese, who is going unnoticed in Bale’s bad moments.”

Bale has struggled with various injuries this season, but despite missing large chunks of time, is one of the top scorers and assist-makers in La Liga this season.

However, his absenses have allowed other players like Angel Di Maria and most importantly, Jese to step up and make a case of a starting role in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.

Gareth Bale has said he prefers playing on the right wing more than on the other side of the attacking trio at Real Madrid.

Since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, the 24-year-old Welshman has been deployed on both sides. But speaking in an interview with Madrid-daily AS, he said he is more effective on the right, where he is able to cut inside onto his left foot and let fly from long distance.

He said to the paper: “Last season with Tottenham I didn’t play as much on the left, I was playing more down the middle or on the right – like with Wales. I feel comfortable playing on the right wing, I’m happy there.”

The 91-million-euro man, formerly of Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, claimed his is delighted with his form this season but knows there is still room for improvement. Bale has scored 14 goals in 30 games in his debut season, and assisted 12 more for his teammates.

“I wouldn’t know what to give myself, but I’m happy with how it’s going. I’ve improved a lot and I feel good and I’ve still got margin for improvement,” he stated.

To be fair, his "Kick and Run straight to the outside line" trademark move is pretty effective in wasting time.

He looked perfectly fine while he was on the bench against Dortmund. In fact, I think he intimidated Dortmund from the sideline, more than Di Maria and Illaramendi did throughout the game.

@Thimmy
I have a feeling the injury is worse than we fear
Its a knee injury
Knee injuries are never good
I believe the club is just trying to hide the full details in order not to send the whole fans and players into a state of worry

Its not possible that he was perfectly fine on the bench and in a match that was meant to define the whole season, the coach chose to leave him on the bench when bringing him on even late on wud have distabilized dortmund.

You can only say it was a good decision to leave him out because casillas was supernormal and dortmund hit the woodwork, but if that was not the case, we would all have been asking why they didn't put ronaldo on the pitch but the answer is 'he wasn't fit'

I think Carlo was waiting for Dortmund to score a 3rd before putting Cristiano on hence he waited till last 5 mins i think before using his 3rd substitution.

Anyway i just read that CR will miss the Copa Final.

Without Ronaldo we've done fine against la liga teams and people use that as a reference when trying to explain we don't need him.

Now it's semis in CL, last games in La Liga, and Copa Del Rey final. So let's see if those doubting in Ronaldo are right.
