No it wasn't lol. The commentators made a mistake saying it was Aspas. It was Downing that missed that sitter. He had #19 on the back of his shirt

Henderson looks like he's enjoying the added responsibility of the Captain's armband. I honestly liked the look of that midfield, though against better sides it probably doesn't have the defensive bite necessary to work.

By the way, if you're using FirstRow then the second stream does not have Owen commentating.

I'm stuck with Owen ffs. I don't want to change the stream because it's running perfect atm.

Ratings for the first half, because why not?
Jones: Looked composed at the back the few times he was needed, although that one punch seemed a little... worrying. Wasn't really at fault for the goal, it was too far out for him to come for it and was well taken. 6.5
Spearing: Forgot he was playing most of the time, haven't seen him do anything besides take a throw-in one time. 5
Coates: Fine in defense, had nothing to do with the goal, but his distribution is non-existent. Fairly certain every one of his passes has gone to Wisdom or Jones, and Valerenga isn't even pressing him. 5.5
Wisdom: Been bullying their forwards the few times they got up front, best player in the backline so far but hasn't had much to do. 6.5
Flanagan: Haven't seen him do anything in defense yet, but a few good overlapping runs with Ibe and a beautiful cross that Downing managed to mishit into the goalkeeper's face. Also was somewhat responsible for the goal, although there wasn't much he could do after Hendo lost his man. 6
Allen: Impressive in possession, distribution, and going forward. He seems to have added a creative, attacking part to his game in this preseason that he had lacked before. I'm loving his intuition on interceptions, his movement, and his skill on the ball to keep it away from defenders in the final third. 7.5
Henderson: Multiple great throughballs, a few solid shots, linking up well in attack and possession with Allen, looking like an all around midfielder. At fault for the goal, though, he's the one who lost his mark on the corner; otherwise this score would be higher. 7
Alberto: Also playing well in midfield, and his goal was a beautifully taken volley. Playing against a GK in top form, he placed his shot perfectly in the corner, taking the Keeper out of the equation. Great technique on the shot as well makes me excited. 7.5
Downing: Made multiple good runs to get into space, and his assist to Aspas was quite literally foolproof, even Aspas couldn't scuff that chance. Also taken several wasteful, useless shots from outside the box. 7
Aspas: Got his goal and should've also been awarded a penalty, and his movement is good as it has been all preseason, being in the right place to mop up everyone else's creativity (not that he doesn't create as well). But he missed missed or otherwise messed up FOUR 1v1s in that half. Should've taken his chances, could have five goals in the half with a little composure on clear cut chances. 6.5
Ibe: Dominating the left side of the field in attack, linking up well with the entire front line, Henderson, and Flanagan. Love seeing his creativity in dribbling and passing, seems to make good decisions (especially for a 17-year-old). Also been wasteful with his shooting though. 7
Overall, I'll give that half a 7. Great creativity lacking finishing, and that goal was also a mistake. Excited to see the starters perform against this team.

Agreed, but a quality midfield against lower sides right there. With some finishing in attack they could make weaker teams pay.
Also really glad to see Hendo get the armband that first half. His passion is evident and it seems that he's getting through to BR too, clearly a turnaround since the almost sale last year.

Sterling good ball, Assaidi good run... a little more in front of Borini and that would've been a goal.

Oooh Assaidi turning the defender three times there before shooting welllll wide. He's looking confident on the ball yet again, I wonder if we might see him play this year if he stays

Have we had a goal on a corner yet this preseason? I'd love to see some moves on set pieces.
...And as I type that, the ball into the net

Toure hits the bar and then almost back heels it in off the rebound
