According to TZ in Germany, Khedira has signed for Bayern...

It was Cadena Ser who reported that and Bayern have categorically denied the rumours since then. Besides, just recently Carlo said that the club wants to keep him, the player himself wants to stay aswell according to Carlo and that they are working on a new contract.

Khedira's agent probably planted these rumours to force Real Madrid's hand.

Actually, EC, AS, Cadena Ser, etc. have all reported this week that Madrid has not offered and does not intend to offer a contract extension to Khedira... so there's no way he's staying.

The only thing i've heard Carlo say is that they wouldn't release him over the winter and intend to keep him until his contract is finished.

yeah... well again that's just not true. I wonder how papers like the Equipe can just write something like that, with "According to German daily TZ.."

There's nothing about that in today's TZ, nothing on the website either, except that they reported the rumour originating from a Cadena SER radio program a couple of days ago, along with a statement of Bayern that there's "zero point zero" truth about it.
The only mention of Khedira in today's print tz and on the website since then is a quoting Ancelotti about it, that "Khedira wants to stay".

As often, you find this proliferated on Spanish and Italian websites too, all with the "according to Tz" fake attribution, but nothing in German media at all.
So no.

And yes, I just entered a 2-week free ePaper trial of that trashy tabloid just to check because I was getting paranoid

Real Madrid is focused on the pitch but also the transfer market. Their coach, Carlo Ancelotti, was interviewed in a press conference before the match against Elbar- he discussed Jese’ Rodriguez and Sami Khedira’s situations since there have been many rumors surrounding the two players:”Sami wants to stay here. That's where I got the idea that Real Madrid want to keep him, and Ancelotti seems to really like him as a player, Khedira says he wants to stay too (aslong as he gets paid handsomely).

Of course negotiations can always go wrong and Khedira's agent tells him to leave but that hasn't happened yet.

That's politics Urbie... with Modric' injury, they need a motivated Khedira.  So Carlo just in the past 2 days has started talking about potentially extending Khedira.  They want him to perform like if his career were impacted as opposed to just being a lame duck player.  If Modric were healthy and these extension talks had suddenly popped up, then i'd take them more seriously.  Call me a cynic if you want to lol.

I tend to think the extension talks are BS since Madrid made absolutely no attempt at extending Khedira until now... and this is Nov of his last contract year.

Mind games.  Carlo is good at them.  He used them with Ozil and Di Maria as well.

you don't need to, I believe you that they exist.
But you'll have to understand if I don't really consider them to have privileged knowledge.

Doesn't mean if Madrid offered him a huge contract, he would say no... but if Madrid were truly considering extending him, it would have happened by now imo.

I don't really care, and obviously have no clue, whether he extends at Real or not.
For all I care, he could be going to Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Schalke, Dortmund, RedBull Leipzig or Olympique Marseille.

I simply don't want us to sign him, stick to the hope that we won't and therefor really care to point out that supposed TZ report about him having signed does not exist.

If he wasn't injured all the time he would be a brilliant signing, though. But not a Pep player if you follow the clichés.

well, it's not that I generally would mind him or think he's not good, but we have Rode who I think deserves a shot, and the youngsters. I'd rather give Höjbjerg enough playing time next season that he doesn't leave.
I don't think Khedira would offer anything special that we really NEED him.

And I don't think there's anything to the rumour anyway.

He should go. He is not suited to ancelottis football nor is he good enough as a emergency destroyer type player. No point keeping him.

Khediera is a poor footballer in possession nor is he an out-right defensive beast like Martinez who can double up as a CB.

He just does not fit. Okay he can make a few good runs, but overall, he is a very average footballer.

Apart from a very stacked mid-field, I think both Rode and PEH are better footballers in possession. Okay Rode maybe can improve in that respect but Rode has fantastic end product with a very good eye for goal, good runs, grit and a great spirit.

Leaving Martinez, Thiago, Basti, Alonso, I like both Rode, PEH and even believe in Gaudino.

Khediera will be a disappointing transfer. I would hate such a transfer

agreed. I wouldn't call Khedira merely average, but I think with Rode we already have someone who I think will do what Khedira does, but better.

How does he compare to Kramer hans?

I am hoping we don't sign him either. Hope he goes to Arsenal and it is a better fit for him.

Rode already or soon to be better than Khedira now...

Khedira is welcome to join Arsenal though Wenger is likely to play him as a winger or something...

I haven't seen too much of Kramer tbh, probably Viva and especially RWO can tell you more, my very superficial impression would be Kramer is a more complete midfielder, as he seems to have a bit more of a creative side and seems to be very good on the ball too.
Rode hasn't played much for us yet, but he's a high energy midfield battler, making runs and getting into challenges, and I liked him so far.
