These injuries and illnesses work perfectly during the international break. Can't help thinking Walcott could have been ready (just barely) before the break but Wenger didn't want to risk him being selected.

Chamberlain injury is apparently "taking longer to heal than expected" and now he won't be back in training until mid-December. So he probably won't be back until late-January/early-February.

In other words he's going to be our annual "out for the season" player.

Arsene Wenger has received a double fitness boost ahead of Arsenal’s home clash with Southampton on Saturday.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been cleared by medical staff to train after a tight hamstring forced him out of Wales’ friendly international with Finland last Saturday, while the league leaders' winger Theo Walcott has also resumed full training and is set to return after a six week lay-off with a stomach problem.

on Theo Walcott...
Theo will be back for Saturday in the squad. He's completely fit again. He has not played for a long time, of course, he has not played even a reserve team game, but I will put him in the squad on Saturday. Yes [I will use him cautiously].

on Tomas Rosicky...
Tomas was ill, he had one or two [normal] training days, he could be in the squad as well on Saturday. We have a final test on Friday.

on Lukas Podolski...
Podolski is not too far away, I would say three weeks. He is doing fitness training on the pitch. He starts to do some ball work too, he still needs two or three weeks before we see him on the pitch for Arsenal.

on Ryo…
Ryo has a hamstring problem that he got from the Norwich game, he will be out for Saturday.

on the longer-term injuries...
Chamberlain is at least one month, Sanogo is January, Diaby will be March.

Sanogo following in Diaby's footsteps in more than one way now.

Podolski is taking forever, glad Theo's back though.

Vital that Walcott is back. Shame about Podolski - sounds like an awful hamstring injury he suffered. Guessing we might see:

Szczesny - Sagna Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs - Arteta Wilshere - Ramsey Ozil Cazorla - Giroud

Fabianski Vermaelen Monreal Rosicky Gnabry Walcott Bendtner

the boss confirmed that Lukas Podolski was still three weeks away from fitness while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yaya Sanogo won’t feature until the New Year.

“Podolski is not too far away, I would say three weeks. He is doing fitness training on the pitch. He starts to do some ball work too, he still needs two or three weeks before we see him on the pitch for Arsenal.

“Chamberlain is at least one month, Sanogo is January too, Diaby will be March.”

There’s also a chance Tomas Rosicky won’t feature on Saturday with the boss revealing the Czech international is still overcoming the effects of flu.

“Tomas was ill, he had one or two [normal] training days, he could be in the squad as well on Saturday. We have a final test on Friday.”

Wenger confirmed everyone who played against Man Utd is in the squad tomorrow, plus Walcott. This means Rosicky, who had been ill, is fit. Think both of them two will be on the bench.

on the team news for Cardiff…
No, nothing is different from Marseille really. We have no injuries. Of course we have some little concerns. People were a little bit rested like Arteta, but they are all available now.

on Gibbs...
Kieran Gibbs was sick but he has already recovered yesterday. He is now back in the squad.

on Podolski’s progress…
It will be three weeks until we could see him in the team.
November 29th. rofl
on Oxlade-Chamberlain…
It will be the New Year for him.

2 great signings coming up Oxe and Poldi.

By the way the exact quote on Sagna was "Slight hamstring problem". Maybe he's just resting Sagna so will probably be available against Everton.

Everton will be too soon. I think the Chelsea game in a couple of weeks is a bit more realistic.

Stop underrating Jenks fellows.. Have you already forgotten that cross off which even Bendtner could score?

In all seriousness, Jenkinson will be our 1st choice RB unless Bac signs an extension - of which we haven't heard squat. Might as well give Jenks the game time when we can and get behind him and help him improve.
