the way he carries himself on the pitch, get into positions etc... remarkable. you can tell he is a bit rusty, but he could have bagged a hattrick last night without us knowing he was injured before.

B team Costa Rica... most of them are amateur players. Against players in the top leagues, he doesn't have enough athleticism right now. He'll create chances by positioning alone. But he's very limited in what he can contribute.

I think it will take at least until January for us to see the true Higuain again. That's why he should really be given every opportunity to get himself healthy first before expecting performance.

Goal.com gave Higuain "flop of the match" for Argentina... sometimes you wonder if they understand football.

Quarterfinals should be a true test for Higuain and Gago, if they're allowed to start.

Batista cant change the team now lol, tevez and lavezzi and banega are done.

gago plays more direct than banega, and it fits the double pivot better.

It was just one of those games for Higgy. He looked very dangerous even though he is currently a bit chubby (maybe thats what threw him off balance when shooting. His very first opportunity deserved a goal just for the team play and dinked ball over from Kun which he controlled so well.

Higgy is class

Of course Higuain was flop of the match for Argentina, who else? Kun netted a brace, Messi was the best on the pitch, their defense/defensive midfield didnt allow a single chance to the opponents, and Di Maria scored and was excellent. So who else would be a flop of the match other than a player who wasted 3-5 excellent chances?

I think he meant Costa Rica included. Alot of players flopped in Costa Rica but I agree, Higuain was the biggest flop IMO too. He is a big name and it's expected more from him compared to Costa Rica players. But there was worse in CR.

It's too bad because the fact of the matter is that playing Aguero and Higuain from the start finally stretched out the defenders of the opposing team and chances were able to be created. The fact that he didn't put them away is definitely daunting but I think the important thing for the Albiceleste to focus on is having those forwards to make the runs and pull defenders. Tevez, Lavezzi and co. just like to run with the ball. I wouldn't want either of those two at Madrid.
