Caceres: At our best to beat Lyon

Martin Caceres has conceded that the Scudetto is Juventus' main target, but hopes to win the Europa League as well.

The Uruguayan defender has recently become a mainstay in the Bianconeri XI after a spell on the substitutes’ bench earlier in the season.

And the 27-year-old has admitted that he is delighted to be in the side, whilst commenting on their goals for the campaign.

“The main goal is the Scudetto,” he told a Press conference. “But we are glad to be able to find ourselves at this stage of the Europa League.

“We’re going to be facing a very good Lyon side though, so we’re going to have to play our best game to get through.

“All we’re focused on is trying to beat Lyon – that’s it.

“I’m delighted to be in the team. The Coach has put his faith in me, and I feel good.”

I see Caceres as the most reliable defender we have as back up to our trio of defense. He is the type of player who gives a lot on the pitch and I'm glad he's finally playing continuously.

Juventus defender Martin Caceres has been involved in another car accident upon his return to Uruguay after taking part in the World Cup for La Celeste.

The Uruguayan was involved in a car crash in Turin a few months ago which resulted in slight concussion and minor injuries to his face.

According to ANSA.it, the defender was involved in a car accident in Montevideo where his car collided with another at an intersection and luckily he is unhurt.

The Bianconeri defender appeared in court on Tuesday after failing a roadside sobriety test though he was later released by a judge.

The 27-year-old played in all of Uruguay’s World Cup games this summer as his time went out at the Round of 16 stage against Colombia.

Poor guy is always getting injured, I hope he gets better soon.

I hope he is at full health quickly. I really wish he would stop putting himself in these stupid situations. It's usually not a coincidence when someone is involved in accidents so frequently.

Juve agree Caceres renewal
By Football Italia staff

Juventus defender Martin Caceres is expected to sign a contract renewal until June 2018.

The Uruguay international has been in Turin since joining from Sevilla in 2012 and his current deal is due to expire in June 2016.

According to Sky Sport Italia, a deal has been struck to extend until the termination of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 28-year-old proved himself a useful figure due to his versatility, as he can play centre-back, right-back or left-back, plus in a more advanced wing-back role if required.

His season was dogged by injuries, meaning Caceres made only 14 appearances in all competition, scoring one goal.

Damn, thats really bad. Anyways he looked kinda a liability since his return, I dont know if it was mental or physical.. But we are short in defenders now for sure.

He has no option to do so now... No team will want him like this. Juve will take care of him.

Well it's not about Caceres, its about the club Very Happy

It was already a really shaky ground for his renewal, especially after his accident.. I don't think he will get it. I hate to say it because I really liked him as a person, but we are not a charity organization, so we should not extend. He can go free agent to any club after, so it's not true noone will want him.

Juve are prepared to keep him. Juve and Allegri want him.
