Unless he scores 40+ for MK Dons.

Wow this just gets better and better.

Very good read. Thumbs up

Makes me think about how I wish I could tweak the laws & enforcement of them. I love attacking football, sure, but I do think that there's a great--and entertaining--element lost when the physical aspect of man v man gets regulated out of existence.

I think violent or reckless tackles, fights, etc., should be punished and punished harshly as appropriate. But ideally mere "contact" in the box shouldn't entail a penalty, and a bit of tussling over the ball, for position, and all that shouldn't be counted as a foul every time ... which is how it seems to be trending. It breaks up the game, makes it less enjoyable, etc. And as Neville says, it's part of this whole devaluation of defending. But solid, gritty defensive work can make the game better.

Check out our fixtures for the next four weeks:

Southampton (h)
Stoke (a)
Galatasaray (a)
Newcastle (h)
Liverpool (a)
QPR (h)
West Ham (a)
Southampton (a)

Don't suppose it's too early to have a season defining run, is it?

Southampton - home - we should win with the way we've played the last two.
Stoke - away - let's scrape thru that one with a win.
Gala - away - let's get the win and see what Anderlecht does against Dortmund, hey, you never know.
Newcastle - home - should be easy.
Liverpool - away - by then we'll have great form and on a veery good run, so yeah win plus also revenge.
QPR - home - even easier than Mole'scastle
WHU - away - we always seem to play them away around Christmas time and we always seem to win, so yeah.
Southampton - away - let's attract some players in the market with a good win.

So yeah. Never to early.

Now I don't know, some of you might have read this before. It might have even been shared on here as well, but at least not that I know off.

http://www.refereedecisions.co.uk/ref-review-201213-arsenal-if-you-think-football-in-england-is-not-biased-best-not-to-read-this/

Makes for interesting reading if you ask me. Don't know how legit the people is behind those numbers. Actually wanted to post this in the general section, but would've been called out as a conspiracy theorist and all that I think.

Bias or not, the majority of referees in England are terrible on just about every call they can make, from the small, niggly challenges to the large, game-changing incidents. I think just about every team in the country can present a case of refs being biased against them; that's the sort of standard there is right now.

This may sound ridiculous, but it's possible that the image of Arsenal being "soft" that has been perpetuated for a number of years influences the mindsets of refs, at least when it comes to ordinary fouls. You lose count of the amount of players who have to commit four or five fouls against us before they even get booked.

In the last couple of years, though, there has been an odd number of penalties not rewarded to us, particularly at home, for whatever reason. Just last night before we scored, there was a blatant handball in the box not given - hell, the ref didn't even play advantage, meaning that he saw no offence despite it happening right in front of him. A few weeks ago against Hull, Geroge Boyd jumped and handled the ball, and that wasn't given either.

Last night, there was a moment where Southampton took a throw in ten yards further up than where it should have been taken, played the ball to Pelle who was offside but wasn't given offside, and were then awarded a corner despite Pelle clearly getting the last touch on the ball. All in the space a few seconds. That's how crap the refereeing is in this league.

Wenger has, oddly, named tomorrow's team already:

Szczesny; Debuchy, Chambers, Mertesacker, Bellerin; Flamini, Ramsey, Chamberlain; Campbell, Podolski, Sanogo

Subs: Martinez, O'Connor, Kamara, Maitland-Niles, Zelalem, Iwobi, Akpom

Suggests we don't care much that there's a chance to win the group.

Debuchy's back...
Hmm, I hope the players take the match serious though.
Time for Campbell to step up.
Rosicky can't by himself a game. sad.

The entire bench full of Youth players Laughing

Good to see Debuchy back, some fans have completely forgotten that the bloke exist. I would have left Martinez in goal, to gain a bit more experience and confidence at this level. I can see Podolski putting in one of those performances where he can't be arsed. Also where is Rosicky ? , this will be a good opportunity to see what Campbell is made of.
