lmao, pretty sure he got unreal stick from how much confidence he did have in him.

He just never had confidence in himself. That's why we never saw the real Gervinho. Dunno what this hate campaign is agaisnt Arsenal.

I honestly don't know what he's on about, if you don't have the confidence to play in the Premier League that's one thing. You don't do well, that's another. Wenger played him week in week out and had the utmost faith in him when the supporters didn't. Don't blame others for your own shortcomings.

It was mistranslated apparently.

“I dreamed of playing for them, I loved them since I was a child,” Gervinho told The Sun. “I don’t detest Arsenal because of the way Wenger treated me.

“My frustration is I quit Arsenal too soon. I left a club I loved without really showing how good I was. I am happy I went there and was able to work with Wenger – I never thought I’d quit after just two seasons.

“Wenger never had faith in me. [Rudi] Garcia does not differentiate between those who play and those who don’t. For a player that is important.

“He doesn’t speak more to you because you play and less with me because I don’t.

“For him there aren’t only 11 players; there are 25 players. Everyone has the same level, gets treated the same and gets spoken to in the same way.”

That's a bit less low from him but I'm interested in how Wenger didn't show confidence in him, I remember Gervinho starting in rich and poor form and Wenger getting abused for it.

Maybe it's different in the dressing room but he's spoken out about it multiple times now, let sleeping dogs lie.

Reports emerging that Gilberto Silva has been offered a coaching role at Arsenal. I hope it's true and I hope he accepts.

It's too bad he was moved on from the squad when he was. I really think he deserved to be captain post-Henry and should have stayed until 2009 or 2010 ...

on his 400th Premier League win…
It was a tough one today. It doesn't become easier. Honestly, you don't have a feeling because there is so much in the next game. I'm happy I could win 400 and it's not as easy as it looks. The next 400 will be much more difficult.

Good piece. Forget tactics and transfers, give us more injury luck last season with Özil, Walcott, Ramsey and other key players being in and out and we could have won the league imo.

Same goes with this year but not that we'd be in the lead but at the very least much more competitive.
