Celta Vigo: Fontas and Llorca.

Celta Vigo last 3 league results:

Celta Vigo 1-1 Osasuna
Real Valladolid 3-0 Celta Vigo
Celta Vigo 3-1 Almeria

Celta Vigo Current league position: 17th.

1. Barcelona - 49 points
2. Atletico Madrid - 49 points
3. Real Madrid - 41 points
4. Athletic Bilbao - 33 points
--------------------------------
17. Celta Vigo - 16 points

Real Madrid players called up:

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Diego López and Jesús.
Defence: Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa and Nacho.
Mid-fielders: Xabi Alonso, Bale, Casemiro, Modric, Di María, Isco and Illarra.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Jesé and Morata.

Real Madrid predicted lineup:

--------------Diego Lopez
---Carvajal--Pepe---Ramos---Marcelo
-------------Modric--Alonso-
-------Di Maria---Isco----Ronaldo
----------------Benzema

Ancelotti pre match:

"We finished last year well, even though we struggled to win the last match. In the last two months we played well and tomorrow I hope to see that same attitude and concentration. The players have come back in good condition, the team is doing well and I think we can play well tomorrow".

The Italian coach also spoke about the Galician side: "They are a good team that play good football. I know the coach’s philosophy because he was in Italy and it is about playing good football. Hopefully it will be a good spectacle". When asked specifically about Luis Enrique, he said: "I know his story, but it will be a match between Real Madrid and Celta Vigo. There is no problem".

In reference to the job done by Zidane, he said: "Together we planned the individual work that he does and he occasionally devotes more time to the forwards, to work on both shooting and losing markers. The work he is doing is paying off and you can see that, for example, Jesé has improved".

About the academy player and whether he could start, he said: "I have not spoken about starting. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema in the squad it is hard to say that he will start. He's doing well and is showing that he is important to the team. That's enough. He is very young and is doing very well, so we're all happy with him. He may play tomorrow".

About the supposed problems that Real Madrid have attacking in confined spaces, he said: "All teams have problems attacking reduced spaces. Speed of play is very important to find spaces and the truth is that I have players who are very good tight situations such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Modric and Isco, who have the ability to create things. When we are slow in possession it is more difficult and the key is to start the play from the back with more movement". About the headed goals conceded in the last two official matches, he said: "It bothers me because I don’t think that we conceded like that in the previous 22 matches and then we took a backwards step in the last two. It is something that we must improve".

Prediction:

Real Madrid 3-1 Celta Vigo

I would like to see Casemiro. Anyway, easy victory expected, Ronaldo with at least 2 goals IMO.

Isco in the middle again. I thought Carlo has learned from his past mistakes. Makes sense since the game is in home and hes trying to put a bit more offensive scheme to please the crowd.

Isco and Di Maria were painfully bad
Benzema his usual self. Modric was our best player, Carvajal, Marcelo and Ronaldo were average.

our deliveries have been extremely poor bar the one CR pass to di maria. the forwards are starved this game

the midfielders are very much at fault here. The simple pass carvajal couldve done to benzema but instead chips the damn thing says it all.. isco is again dribbling into dead ends.. hes not spreading the play and taking about 100 touches on the ball before releasing.

It's not easy dominating against Rafinha tbh. Best youngstar on the pitch by far.

What in the hell is Ancelotti having the players do in attack? Everyone is f*cking stationary. Every play has to be created by individual brilliance or it doesn't come off. Where the f*ck is the movement??

Has nothing to do with smarts. His end product is just a million times better than DiMAria's. Put in two crosses that were better than anything DiMaria did all game.

Anyone catch that Di Maria gesture?

Keeping him over Ozil was a joke. Ozil would be our starting CAM because Isco is still learning and it's noted when he plays.

Jese would have filled in perfectly as a rotation with Bale.

Isco is bad, plain and simple, same as Di Maria. Can't believe we sold Ozil because of one of this guys

Btw, Modric MOM for me. Incredible player. Jese and Bale are miles better than Isco and Angel.

di maria might not have a brain but isco's the size of a pea. I don't care about his flashy dribbling or whatever, he hold the ball way too long and has zero vision

I disagree
Dimaria takes loads of touches and dribbles too much
bale keeps it simple and tidy. The most touches he took was four or five

alot of young talent have struggled like this at his age, be patient

the problem is that he has been too bad for 2-3 months. he has to regain his preseason form
