Martino take note how easy it is when you play a 433 with three forwards and busixaviesta in midfield

Great performance. The team has responded well to the criticism post the losses. With us its always about having the eye of the tiger look in our play. When we have it,we are unbeatable and can destroy anyone. If we play like that I am confident we will beat Madrid.
Bartra looked a little off but other than that I thought everyone played well.I think we should play Pedro and Alexis against Madrid. Both played like demons possessed and their form this season needs to be rewarded with starts against Madrid.Neymar can come off the bench if we are struggling but Alexis and Pedro to start.

Also really impressed with Messi.Such a mountain of difference when he actually decides to run.Offered great movement when we had the ball and attacked the box when we had the ball wide.Thats what I want to see.Over the past 2 games,he has displayed the kind of play that made people call him the GOAT.Some really impressive display of strength too.Its almost impossible to knock him off the ball even when surrounded by multiple players.

I agree, Messi has looked fantastic the last couple games. The thing we've hounded him about the most- his movement- has improved markedly.

I couldn't watch this game, but in his last two games he run more or less the same as always after he came back from injuries. Fortunately, Tata is not making him press the CBs and the GK alone anymore.

Of course he does. In this game I've seen him run and tackle a defender from behind. He'll get injured, that harmstring is about to pull very soon IMO.

Not really, the fact that he runs and tackles a defender from behind is irrelevant. Maybe that defender was just 5 metres away. While doing what he did at the begining of the season (aka chasing both CBs and the GK on his own) requires several 25 metres sprints every time the opposition builds up from the back.

Messi is not pressing at all the opposition CB as shown vs. City where they build from the back and we barely pressed, allowing them an almost equal posession.

He sprinted 25 yards back to chase Agüero. 1 more like that and the hammy was about to pull.

Yeah, and the rest of the game he just jogged around in front of the CBs.

Eh? Messi hasn't been pressing the CBs properly for like 3 years lol.

Not use talking to free about it.
If he cant see the marked difference in his attitude and movement the past 2 games then there is no use trying to convince him.

You don't watch Barcelona as yourself said. At the begining of this season Messi was made to press like he was Eto'o and the injuries came. Two of them in useless sprints to balls he would never get.

@alex: Messi never has a bad attitude. From time to time he gives a walkfest like he did vs. Valencia. That was unacceptable, but considering his competitive character and the more than proven fact than when instructed he presses a lot, that's most likely due to fitness problems (he has important stamina problems as the fact he has vomited like 10 times on the pitch proves) or just technical instructions.

Just watch the game.
Watch him attack the box when we have the ball wide(the first goal a great example).Watch him make runs off the defender.Watch him move into space. And then watch 90 % of our games over the past 3 seasons.
Then tell me if u see a difference or not.

Oh, so it's just this game I didn't watch! Well then it's just a one off, no need to bother when talking in general as I thought it was "the last games". My bad.

His movement was good against Man City too. It's not just about pressing, but movement off the ball as well. Both have improved.

This season i haven't yes... well majority of the games anyway i watched most of big games though.

Anyway its not the point.... Messi hasn't pressed properly since 2011.

He didn't do it under Tito where i watched every game and he didn't do it in Pep's final season which i also watched with regularity.

His attitude clearly has come into question long before this season, has nothing to do with Martino this has happened for a while now.

I watched the City game though and he looked a lot better than i have seen him for a long time in terms of work ethic.

The moment he gets over his injuries and recovery of he starts moving off the ball better and making more runs. Surprise!
