"shits on competitions he's never won"... what did he say? "It would be nice to win but it's not our priority"? It's not like he called it a mickey mouse cup or insulted it in any way

He did not describe in typical GL fashion but he was very much dismissive of the competition. Personally, the competition really isn't a big deal apart from some banter here and there and with Spurs' lofty ambition, they obviously see it the same way. However, to be dismissive of a competition he has not won is quite high and mighty. Pep and Jose can have that attitude, Poch just looks a bit rude.

Especially since it is Spurs whose trophy cabinet is a bit bare at the moment.

Other than the gross misrepresentation of what Poch said that RG posted, I can't be bothered with these responses because everyone knows if Spurs won this cup that it would be discredited immediately. It's not a winning situation.

BS. Only need to look how I championed Utd winning it last season. It was an integral piece in a historic treble. It being called the Haribo cup now does lessen it's worth, though.

I just don't see that alleged arrogance in either the quotes posted earlier or the post-match interview:

He reiterates how disappointed both he and the players are, how they hoped to move on to the next round, etc. Doesn't seem to disrespect the competition at any point.

Was more talking about the comments made before the match, not after. Obviously after blowing a 2-0 lead, being dismissive may not have been the most ideal stance for a manager.

I don't know why you guys are so critical of Pochettino only focusing on real trophies. Spurs probably wanted to lose. This way they can focus on getting knocked out of the CL in the round of 16, and coming 3rd in the league.

What a dumbass, he's insulting his own fans. Spurs fans have defended their League Cup win as a real trophy since 2008 Laughing
