Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Am I the only person here that thinks Januzaj is getting way to much credit that he should be? The guy was found out, he took more than 4-5 seconds to make a decision and did not look he should of been there in such a big game. How was he a standout player?
Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Give him time bruh . Its not easy for a young boy . The expectation each time he walks onto the field is so big now. He has started only 2 games under LvG. And that was after being a prominent figure under moyish last season, and then LvG came and he had to impress him again. So he looked a little bit circumspect and nervous whenever he played this season. Bear in mind LvG also bought many World Class 'ready made' talent. So it must have been really tough on him.
But its getting better with every game. He looked really 'scared and nervous' in the WBA match. LvG showed confidence in him by starting him again against chelski and he played much much better. Until he switched flanks in the 2nd half he was indeed a standout player. Looked much more confident to take on players and even won us free kicks from dangerous areas (just like he used to do last season).
Now his decision making is an area he need to work on. But the kid's not even 20. Give him time. With more game time its only gonna get better.

Apparently both Silva and Toure have picked up knocks and are doubtful for the derby. Added to that their horrible form of late.
We should be really smacking those lot next week honestly starting to think now.
Odds are in our favor really.

well he created more chances then Mata did centrally lol
don't think mata made one cutting pass through there defence except that chance wide to di maria who tried to hit it first time and skied it
and remember this is a 19 year old up against the toughest defensive side in the league

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Assuming they will still start with a 4-2-3-1 and not a 4-4-2 now that silva aint available to play. I think this should be our line up.
Opting for Herrera (if fully fut ) in place of adnan to lend more defensive solidity. and falcao i think isnt available for selection as well. So this 11 kinda picks itself I think.
So.. if we map a head-to-head on the field it can roughly emerge like this I believe.
Important pieces in this puzzle as far as we are concerned are di maria and rooney
Important Individual head-to-heads that can decide the course of the match
1. Angel Di maria vs Zabaletta
I wanted di maria to originally play on the right to exploit their (left side) weakness there. But considering di maria himself tend to struggle on the right I am putting him on his strong left side.
Therefore a possible personal battle which awaiting is between ADM and Zabaletta. 2 fellow countrymen and theres that fear the zaba will be extra motivated to stop adm. But still we can hope adm's class will triumph. zaba usually play high up the pitch more as an attacking outlet usually for them. Here he might just stay back if we put di maria against him and focus on defending more.
2. Rooney vs mangala and also clichy
Rooney's position in this formation is not the conventional forward. Provided he is 100% fit I want him to exploit their left side weakness. Run at mangala, run at clichy, put pressure on them to lose composure especially the former. We should target him. The 2nd best person in this side who can do that job after di maria I believe is Wayne.
3. Fellaini vs toure
This is the battle. If we can win this, it will help quite a lot in getting a result from this. Toure might not be in good form at the moment. but still he is a threat and he will play well against us. So put main man Maroaune against him and lock him down.
4. Herrera vs fernando and Blind vs Fernandinho
Key midfield battles. herrera if fit can take care of fernando I believe. Blind as well. But in both of them one thing thats against us are their physicality. Hopefully brain can win over brawn.
5. Rafael - smalling vs Aguero
This one scares me. But still hoping rafa can tie him down. Smalling's assistance will be vital so as blind so as herrera. We need to stop this pos at all costs.
6. Smalling and Rojo vs Dzeko
No brainfarts from either of the 2 and this we can take care of I believe.
7. Shaw vs Navas
Need assistance from di maria and young Luke got this.
8. rvp vs Kompany
this one though, i dont have much hope. kompany in all probability will win this. Hopefully van persie can prove me wrong.

I know that hes only 19, but I'm not into sugar coating him either. He didnt play good whatsoever! Infact at the best of times, him and Mata slowed our tempo down anytime they had the ball. Never mind Mata, hes been a passenger for the last few games.
Im not expecting Ronaldo to pop out of his body but for him to actually play to the top level, he needs to understand hes need to pass the ball faster and come up ideas faster with the ball.
Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Rafael out through injury again ffs. Valencia replacing him. My confidence has taken a hit because of that ffs.
We badly need to get a new rb in January.
Good to see Januzaj still in the team.
Everyone else was not surprising to see included,
Carrick back, and Hererra on the bench too give us good options later on in the game.

screw him and phil jones, seriously. This is getting ridiculous.
We need a new rb and cb urgently. We just cannot rely on these 2, can never get a constant run of games from them.

This team is so mentally weak, 3rd sending off this season, and all for such stupid things. Can't even make two passes in a row in the opponents half without shitting themselves.

well now you gotta survive the first 10 mins of the second half and defend like nothing in the last 20mins (including extra time).
Good luck, a draw wouldn't be too shabby at this point.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Valencia at rb So far ahead of the backline that they are exposing that side everytime they attack. It's the reason Smalling panicked and tried to cover for him. He is also all over the place at the back playing nervous as hell.
We're playing it dangerously by having such a high line. Our defenders are struggling with their long balls and it seems they don't know how to organize an offside trap ffs.
We're playing into City's hand. Posession, high line.. they get the ball and press forward with speed and we're panicking because of that.
We need to do better in the final 3rd. Get ADM more involved. Rooney has been solid helping out at the back. DDG has been immense as per, Fellaini has had a good game too, we're lucky he didnt give away that pen on Aguero because it was a penalty.
Smalling though Completely ruined us for another 45 mins. They will be bouyed and we'll be on the ropes.
They were there for the taking today, but like usual, we have one person fcking it up for the team.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
we could have been down to 9 men. Praise that ref. Nevertheless Now its up to really the time they going to score. We have lost it. I cant see a comeback from here.
They will be all over us from the word go in the 2nd half.
may be sub valencia, drop blind to rb and bring in Herrerra ? EDIT : to limit the damage ?
having said that Joe effing Hart too deserved a red card for headbutting the ref.

yea a 50/50 one. The commentators on my tv said it was a clear red. So... lol.. I too initially thought he got the ball. But then I heard those bleeps saying that so I thought may be they are right.
