“El Shaarawy went to Euro 2016, but there was no role in the 3-5-2 for him. The same holds true for [Domenico] Berardi."

Great move Ventura... Berardi is injured atm, but saying he and ElSharawy dont have spance in the nazionale? and likes of Eder and Pelle still have?

 read or watch the whole interview. It IS a good move by Ventura.

Bolded parts:

For these games, him (Berardi) like El Shaarawy, has no possibility to be utilized in the 3-5-2.
...
When there is an infinity of wide attackers it will be a sin not to use them.

----

He has said before that its not the time for revolutions and that he will continue Conte's work. Which is the right thing to do. He has only 1 game to prepare for WC qualifiers where we have to beat Spain to the top of the group.

Its only the early games.

Then he would transition the team into his shape relying more on wide forwards.

People just love to criticize, its an entirely valid approach. Let the guy work.

I agree to continue Conte's work for the short term, however the 3-5-2 must be scrapped for the WC.  The way to go is 4-3-3 wth our abundance of wingers.

Berardi, Candreva, Insigne, El Shaarawy, Bernardeschi, even Florenzi can all be wingers in the 4-3-3.  That is our strength and we must adjust accordingly.

The only problem is the striker situation.  Gabbiadini, Pelle, Zaza, Immobile, no one really excites me at all.  Too bad Dybala and Icardi chose Argentina, those 2 in our lineup would have put us over the top. Hopefully Belotti and Pavoletti are the real deal...

Belotti? Gabbiadini? Zaza? Pavoletti? who knows Crying or Very sad

4-3-3 or 3-4-3 is the future.

Just don't start Parolo/Giaccherini/Zaza/Eder/Pelle and Italy will make it to the semis of the WC. I don't know or don't care who the replacements are, I just don't want to see those fodder on my TV.

Give me fat Cassano and wasted Balo over Eder and Pelle any day of the week, regardless of form.

Nothing of new, it was a bad choice to sign him as Nazionale coach .. Ventura is goof just for small-average teams, not adapted for high level and his mentality is clear when you don't take Berardi (atm the best Italian in that role ) because of this 352 Laughing

Yeah no doubt Giacch and Pelle are done for the nazionale with Ventura. Eder and Zaza will depend on the future.

I'm thinking

Insigne - Belotti - Candreva

Marchisio - De Rossi - Verratti

for the later part of the qualifiers if players keep their form.

And those scrubs are the reason Italy lost on pens.

It's funnier the second time around FFS. rofl

At least with the rise of Belotti, I don't need to see Pelle don the blue ever again.

De Rossi is finished. This is what I want to see:

Insigne Belotti Berardi

Bonaventura Verratti Bernardeschi

De Sciglio Chiellini Bonucci Zappacosta

Buffon

F**k the defense. I want an all out Barca style attack... banana banana

Montolivo should be replaced by Jorginho in the next call up, he can't keep getting called  .

The three takeaways from the friendly I got

De Rossi>>>>>>>>
Candreva is still our best option on the right.
Florenzi should never play on the left ever again, that was a waste of time and it killed all attacks from that side.

Low intensity match august friendly and all. The team moves the ball really well, but had no clue how to break up France sitting back. Pelle-Eder looked very good with space but Eder can't do much against a wall. Belotti looked good and active in the few minutes.

3 players debuted, that was good to see.

First official match away in Israel.

De Rossi and Belotti out of today's game. Same module with 3 changes from all reports.

Pelle Eder
Antonelli Bonaventura Verratti Parolo Candreva
Chiellini Bonucci Barzagli

Bonucci is back after his time off for his son. Antonelli is good for me, I like left footed players on the left. Verratti will have his first start, good too. I wanna see Bernardeschi in there at some point. I also wanna see Pavoletti and Immobile come on but its less likely.

Chiellini was the worst player in these last 2 games. Doesn't mean the red card was justified at all, that was some bullshit by the ref.

Chiellini was playing badly, cause of the goal and two near goals. He was on a yellow. Why wasn't he substituted at half-time?

Cheilini should be replaced by Rugani since Ventura wants to eventually go back to a 4 backline.

Ventura with his second call up for the games against Spain and Macedonia:

portieri
Buffon - Donnarumma - Perin

difensori
Astori - Barzagli - Bonucci - Chiellini - Criscito - Darmian - De Sciglio - Ogbonna - Romagnoli

centrocampisti
Bernardeschi - Bonaventura - Candreva - De Rossi - Florenzi - Montolivo - Parolo - Verratti

attaccanti
Belotti - Eder - Gabbiadini - Immobile - Pelle - Sansone

Romagnoli with his first Italy call up, Criscito with his first in years, and Sansone with his second call up (first with Ventura). Belotti and Verratti back from injury.

Good call ups except for the eternal lack of Jorginho.

Same system kept from the euros to play Spain.

Verratti is being evaluated as to his physical condition, since he just came back from an injury, to determine if, and how much he can play.

Otherwise, Ventura is expected to field the same team that beat Spain in the Euros except for Bonaventura for Giaccherini and Romagnoli for Chiellini (suspended)

Expected line up: Buffon; Romagnoli, Bonucci, Barzagli; De Sciglio, Bonaventura, De Rossi, Parolo, Florenzi; Eder, Pelle
