Corey Stoll  House of Cards Hall of Famer

Very interesting concept and great acting from the main cast.

RG we've got plenty of people watching already.

AWWWWW MANNNNNN, you might have just jinxed the show Sad

Anyway, I'm a big fan thus far and have high hopes (with caution). They have a real good thing going and I only hope that they keep it up Thumbs up

I was checking for this before it aired but have been lazy to start it so far

worth it then?

I heard the writing was a little silly but those were just comments I saw from people online.

Is the lead character bald with a Goatee. Does the show run for 43 minutes and 27 seconds? hmm

Might try it soon

I'll accept 43 mins and 26 seconds and a lead character with a heavy beard as opposed to a goatee. hmm

Nice!!

I'm not making this up, I was in the process of making a thread for this wonderful series this morning, but I got discouraged after not being able to figure out how to make these bars in the title between show name and network name rofl

The show is losing me with every episode. So far the best one has, by far, been the pilot and then a steady decline.

passes the time since I'm watching nothing else this summer. I don't rate it that highly, the writing is stupid. Decent cast.

One of the most unrated shows of TV! Started off with a BANG! And keeps getting better top notch acting and storyline Highly Recommend Watching Thumbs up

A Boeing 767 arrives at JFK and is on its way across the tarmac, when it suddenly stops dead. All window shades are pulled down. All lights are out. All communication channels have gone quiet. Crews on the ground are lost for answers, but an alert goes out to the CDC. Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather, head of their Canary project, a rapid-response team that investigates biological threats, gets the call and boards the plane. What he finds makes his blood run cold.

In a pawnshop in Spanish Harlem, a former professor and survivor of the Holocaust named Abraham Setrakian knows something is happening. And he knows the time has come, that a war is brewing.

So begins a battle of mammoth proportions as the vampiric virus that has infected New York begins to spill out into the streets. Eph, who is joined by Setrakian and a motley crew of fighters, must now find a way to stop the contagion and save his city - a city that includes his wife and son - before it is too late.

So just finished the first season. I'm not sure I believe the hype around this show.

Yes, it's an interesting scientific take on vampirism and it's Guillermo Del Toro, but I really didn't see much of a wow factor in this show for me that really popped at me and made me sit up and really pay attention to it. Maybe that will come in season 2.

Very solid cast though, I must say. John Bradley's Abraham is comfortably my favorite character. He's a modern day Gandalf with a thirst for revenge. Love him.

Does it get a lot of hype in the US? the online presence for the show is pretty luke-warm in my experience, I found the first season a decent enough watch during a time when there was nothing else airing tbh. I like the cast and the premise has potential so I'll be there for season 2. I wish it were slightly darker. Wasn't a fan of The Master's vampire design either, they had me interested and the unveil was like, ugh.

Standouts for me are Rat Catcher (I should really remember the actors name since he's EVERYWHERE) Abraham/Walder Frey and The Master's underling.

The Master looked like Dracula and Apocalypse's T-virus injected love child. Was not impressed at all.

Vasily Fet is pretty cool, but he's clearly the stock muscle of the group so there wasn't a lot of depth to his character. (played by Kevin Durand).

This show got some significant hype in the circles I run around in here and I saw a good amount on here too, but as I tend to do with most shows, I waited it out.

I think it's just that the pilot was so good but as the series continued it couldn't maintain that level.
