Marcos Rojo
Rojo: I will give everything for United
Marcos Rojo gave his exclusive first interview to MUTV, saying that he has joined the world's biggest club and promises to give everything on the pitch...
Welcome to Manchester United. How does it feel to be here and to be signing for this club?
Thanks very much. I'm very happy as this is a big step forward in my career and it's amazing to be joining the biggest club in the world.
What do you know about the club, the history, the players?
I know a lot about the club because I always follow the Premier League and Manchester United were always my team because they were the biggest and the best. Juan Sebastian Veron played for United and was a great player and I always watched his progress. United were always my club.
There has been a lot of talk and speculation about the move. How have the last few days been for you?
It's taken a while for everything to get sorted out because these transfers can be very difficult, but I'm so happy to be here at Manchester United.
How did you feel when you heard for the first time that Louis van Gaal wanted to sign you?
It was unbelievable. We played against his team in the World Cup and they were excellent. When I heard that he wanted me to come here I was very happy but also very proud and very excited to get an opportunity at a club like this.
What do you think your best qualities are as a footballer?
I always give everything I have in a game and I leave everything out there on the pitch. I play each game as if it could be my last. That's the most important thing in my philosophy.
What do you think you can achieve here, with the team and also on a personal level?
I think the most important thing is that I keep growing as a player and keep improving. I have worked really hard for this opportunity and now I am at the biggest club in the world and I want to win trophies.
Finally, there are a lot of people here at the club now who can speak Spanish so that should help you settle in and get used to your new surroundings...
Absolutely, that will certainly help me as I get used to life in this country and will help me get settled into the team as quickly as possible.
Great attitude. I guess when Andy Mitten said LvG only wants players that really want to play for the club he was telling the truth. Even if Rojo is partly lying about us always being his club

Re: Marcos Rojo
That's the attitude I like to see. He seems well excited to join us. Even before the club announced the signing he was liking Instagram pics of the club, and all sorts on social media relating to Utd.lol.
I saw him at the WC, and I'm not going to lie, he didn't blow me away, he didn't have stand out games, but he was part of a well drilled defensive unit that got to the final, and he did feature in the team of the tournament. All a + for me, and good enough for me.
I think he will debut at LB on Sunday for us.

Re: Marcos Rojo
From what I've seen/heard of Rojo, hes a bit of a nutter. Herrera's a bit of a dirty bastard too. I like this new (flashback to old) style.

Re: Marcos Rojo
If he can bring that intimdating factor, we good.
As long as he doesn't giveaway pens or get sent off. I've read that he's a booking's magnet, don't know how factual the stat is- something like 5 red cards and 25 yellows in 45 games..

Re: Marcos Rojo
I worry about his record too. A strong personality like van Gaal is perhaps what he might need.

Re: Marcos Rojo
Yeah I'm sure he will curve it somewhat and learn when it's necessary to be aggressive and when not to.
Doesn't mean he has to adopt a new style, just to minimise the rashness.

Re: Marcos Rojo
I definitely noticed him at the WC, to the point where I looked him up see where he played and his age etc think it was after his goal vs Nigeria ...it is always hard to stand out as a defender but sometimes it is better to not be noticed as then it means you are doing your job

Wish we had signed him instead of Vermaelen. I think you got a good young player who will also improve. Think he will make the left centerback position his own for you guys.

Surely Messi would rather have his compatriot than Vermaelen

As much as I would like to blame Messi, its that clown Zubizareta who makes decisions.

In his f***ing dreams!

Rojo is lucky, took Carrick 6 years to get his own chant

Re: Marcos Rojo
So, I suppose he's going to play CB for you? I've only saw him at the WC where he was playing LB for Argentina.

Re: Marcos Rojo
Yeah, he will play as the left most CB in a 3. He might play LWB vs Sunderland though, since Shaw is still out.

Re: Marcos Rojo
I dunno about this signing. He's from SCP so I've never seen him play and I don't like bringing players from smaller leagues right into the top leagues. How will he adapt?

Marcos Rojo: Man United signing's debut held up by visa delay
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29000089
Seems like the alleged incident of him and his neighbour is the only thing holding up the work permit. There is no problems with 3rd party ownership and he has his international transfer certificate issued by the FA.

Manchester United @ManUtd
The UK Border Agency has agreed to grant #mufc defender @MarcosRojo5 a visa and he will therefore be available to face QPR on 14 September.

Re: Marcos Rojo
Bwaaah, I've never been so excited before a match scheduled so early in EPL.
Rojo has to play, I hope Van Gaal won't surprise us by not using him. The argentinian will become a beast defender. I trust LvG that he will make everything that it'll take to bring the team back to glory. All the signings we've made this summer should fulfill our expectations for the next season/s.

Re: Marcos Rojo
You will be hard pressed to find a worse Full back performance than his todays.
Still getting accustommed to the league, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. But woah was he poor.
